New Blue Gig, any recomendations?

2 250w mh 14k and 3 48" VHO actinic
koralia 3, koralia 4 + mag 5 return pump for flow.
Tests all are normal.

I will be getting my first gigantea in the mail tomorrow morning. Ive got a perfect place that is under good light and right where the sand and the rock meet (if it stays put). I know to do a long drip acclamation. Im gonna wait 4-5 days before I try to feed. Ive got a Koralia 4 facing where the anemone will be, but it is easly moved if it is too much flow. Anything else you would recommend??

Depending on the condition that it arrives in I would limit the drip acclamation to an hour -- and make sure the water temp doesn't drop during that time.

More importantly, IMO, is to acclimate it to your lights. I would place 3 layers of window screening b/t the lights and the tank (( egg crate work good to support the screening )) and remove a layer each 5-7 days.

Well its in the tank and everything looks good so far. Its sticky and the mouth is closed. I was told those are the 2 best indicator of a healthy Carpet anemone.

^ What he said. VERY easy to bleach an anemone if you don't slowly introduce it to your lights.

Todd is right on. Make sure to let it settle in before feeding, and watch out for those korallia. Gigs will wander the rocks and mine will climb the glass when he wants a change.

So far its looking as good as i could expect. Its a little bleached and the mouth is only open when the clown fish decide to stick their head in the mouth.... Is this normal? Are the clown fish trying to feed it? I know clown fish do feed anemones but i always figured it was something where they feed the anemone as soon as they get the food in their mouth. Then swim over and place it in the anemone. These clownfish seem to dive into the anemones mouth about a half hour after i fed the tank. almost like they are throwing up in the anemone....

I don't want to worry you but I think that the clowns sticking their heads in my Gig is what killed it. Is there a way to take the clowns out till the Gig acclimates? Of course, I have a lot of clowns and it was a much bigger issue.

Its mouth was just open for about 5 min because of the clowns. Right now it looks great, sticky with the mouth closed. The clowns are hosting it and might be alittle aggressive, but i dont have another place to quarantine the clowns right now.

If you really needed to, you can use a little fish breeder box. One of the problem with Gigantea is clowns love to go inside it's mouth. It cannot be good for it. Saddle back clowns are worst offenderYour anemone looks OK
