new camera and lens - pics showoff time!!!

Hello everyone,

It's too hot outside to do anything so I broke out my camera. I have whole mess of new SPS frags that I will be taking out of QT soon. I only have one more Interceptor treatment left on them to be absolutely sure they are going to carry any pests into my DT. I like to take super blown up macro pics of my frags in QT too right before I make the transfer just to visually check them.

Anyway, here are some pics. The pics are take under T5's. I'll update the photos when they are moved into my DT which are 400W 20k's. Hopefully they'll acclimate to the new lighting well.

This is the Aquascene/Tyree Ice Fire Echinata. I actually have a pretty large colony of this but I bought it again from the SPS Store just because I was unsure of my original colony's lineage. Luckily, my original colony looks just the same as this frag:

I got this Blue/Green Tort from AoA. I don't think it has a name yet.

Thanks Mark. Yes, I think I did. I bought a pretty big frag pack from Jared and forgot most of the coral's names...doh! I'm waiting for them to grow out a bit and color up so I can match it to his pics.

lol...no wonder you recognized it! Yes Jared does. I think I bought one of every frag that he offers. I have this amazing Ultimate's Rainbow Acro I bought from him too. It looks amazing now that it's grown out in my DT. I need to take a pic of that too.

The ultimates rainbow is one of my all time favorite acros. :eek2:

I wish I could color corals like Jared. RMF recently posted some pictures on FB and I want to quit the hobby after seeing his stuff. :beer:

Very nice Wayne!! I'm picking up the RMF diablo today and the acid trip is next on the list. Your ice fire is really looking amazing as well. I have two mini colony's of the ultimates rainbow and they are one of the best looking acros I have when completely colored up.

Yeah, I know what you mean with macro shots. But I try to take my pictures pretty true to life. Here's a link to a video I made about a month ago. It's still looking through a camera, but videos are hard to tweak...at least I don't know how to.

Nice Bryan. I think I've got his diablo milli too. I've got 2 or 3 new red milli's but I don't remember which one is what.

Yeah, it's definetly a nice one. I've always liked Millie and the colors you can get out of them. I wish they played nice with other acros though.

yeah, I love hairy milli's. that's funny you mention them not playing nicely. I try to keep them together in my tank so they won't sting my other acros.

Are they fine when you put them into groups with other Millis? I have a few but I only collect must have pieces because they are definetly rough on other sps. If they work together I'm gonna group them up as well so I can get a few more.

It helps when the colony is 5-6" in diameter. Its one of those corals when you walk by the tank, you stop and take a double take at

^^agreed 100% it's an old school piece that's actually proven compared to some of these pictures posted up on the Internet. I've noticed that the higher up it is the deeper colors are. My other one is a lot lower and it has the same colors just not as vibrant as the one up top.
