*NEW* Sequence Skimmer - Any Interest?

120w - 125w @ 2500LPH/air

The Reeflo would be very comparable to a BK 400 int/ext, and a little better performance than a 300 int/ext.

Mine also draws about 120 to 125 watts. Yesterday, I installed 1/2" tubing to the air valve (bypassing the air silencer) and ran it to the outside of my house for a fresh air feed. It's now drawing about 117 watts and definitely sucking up more air because I had to lower the water level in the skimmer a little.

You mean the current BK 400s... the ones with the 'loopwheel' will burn the ReefFlo like nothing. Their air intakes are just absurd. And then, if the RD2s get added on... its just another nail in everyone else's coffin as far as high-end skimmers go.

Just wondering... does ReefFlo have any pland for a DC pump in the future? I think they are the way to go for many reefing applications. No more concerns about the pump running a poor power factor and burning itself out on being so out of phase with itself. Less noise. No more startup issues, etc. Also, more efficient (the weakness of a DC motor is the AC/DC converter's efficiency... but some of the newer solid state computerized converters are very efficient).

I've thought about doing the same. Just trying to think of a decent way to build an air cleaner that won't restrict the flow, and won't need to be cleaned every day.

i will plug the pump into my whats up pro one of these days ... probably the day that i'll clean the cop up. should only be another day or so.

has anyone got it to pull the real thick stuff? you know the old baby poo kind.

I get that stuff all the time. i'm forseeing absolutely NO issue getting it with this skimmer.

Since my skimmer is in my garage ... due to the temperature, water evaporates quickly .. including in the skimmer cup.
On my EX-3 i had a drain leading to 4.4g container .. it would NEVEr fill above 1/2 .... if i'd adjust to skim a little dryer, the level in the waste container would actually go down.

Just for shiz & giggles ... have you put your nose, or eye over the vent holes int he skimmer cups lid? now plug 3 of the 4 holes, and do it again. thats ALOT of air it moves!
I'm sure that will help 'dry' the collection cup up as well.

Did you notice the skim mate stain on the ceiling of my stand??? Thats from the air blowing out. I need to wipe it everytime I clean the cup.

i was the one that pointed them out, remember? lol

I'm assuming you've ran both of these skimmers, correct? I'm not trying to bash you, or say you don't know what you're talking about, but from my hands-on experiences a Reeflo would be very equivelant, maybe a hair less, than a pinwheel equipped 400, but it would outperform a 300. I have a buddy who runs a 400ext, and it's a monster of a skimmer. I've had the chance to play with it quite a bit, and I was very impressed by it. I can tell you the RF works pretty darn well too though. Having said all of that.... Yes, the BK's do absolutely rock! ;)

As far as the DC motor goes there are no plans at this time to pursue that avenue, yet.

Jeremy, I have bought one unit of Reeflo at PA instead of BK 250 to skim my 230 g SPS and my next tanks! Just would like to know about micro bubles, Reeflo Orca releases back micro bubles into the sump?

Best Regards!

HOLY CRAP!!! This thing is freaking awesome. From someone that has owned over 12 skimmers on only about 3 tanks...I WANT ONE!!

Any info on the "baby" sized one? You testing it now?

I have an AP701 for a future tank upgrade (200gal'ish) but I'm liking this reflo stuff too.

Hope to see more pics and specs.

Got mine last evening and hooked it up today. It's constructed very well. It was easy to put together and install. It's very quiet, not that it matters to me since I have a sump room... :)

I've owned a lot of different name brand skimmers and this is impressive so far.

Well I just ordered one too, you guys suck. My wife is going to leave me.... Anybody want a ASM G4X and a ER RC-180? :)

Sweet! Now I can check it out in person. :) If she kicks you out of the house for a few days, just grab the beer (no Coors Light in this household) and come on by. We have a comfie couch.
