New SPS not looking good

Tokyo

I bought my first SPS (blue Acro and dark red monti) 10 days ago and the Acro isn't looking very, well blue....

It was sent over night and was brown when it arrived. Have a suspicion that it was packed straight off to me from a new shipment because the one I originally ordered was out of stock and they said wait until the weekend. Now the ends are turning white. I also have a monti that I'm pretty sure is getting whiter too. That was put in a couple of days before.

I've been dosing Elos Omega/SVC/ Pro Skimmer and use FiltraM as well as Chemi Pure Elite and a good skimmer.

I thought the colour would have returned by now. Help appreciated, I have no experience with SPS...

Where do you have them in the tank? Could be their not use to the leds.Might need to move them futher down in the tank, and move up slowly. It could take a couple months for the Acro to color back up. Do you have good PE on the Acro?

Thanks for the reply.

It's a 22" deep tank and they're positioned about halfway up.

Is less light better than too much light? If so I'll reduce the intensity of the LED's and increase gradually.

No idea if the PE is acceptable or not. I'll try and take a decent close up pic tomorrow.

yes, less light is better to start with. Its always a good idea to start anything new in the sandbed, and move up slowly. That way you don't take the chance of them bleaching.
