Oceanic Tech Build for under a G!

Got a little work done today, but still not finished.

Added the screen wall to the sump so that top off and refugium will be one in the same:

Where should I drill holes in my DIY Durso? I know one in the top, should there also be one in the side of the curved 90 deg PVC?

I definatly did the top hole, it was told to me to add a second hole on the tee not the elbow. I didn't listen and kept the 1 hole and it's fine for me.

Yeah, I think I'm going to do one on the T. It's tough to see the megaflow kit in my 180, but I think I see one there too. Did you add any additional PVC coming out of the elbow?

I would put the hole just under the waterline, otherwise you will hear the constant tinkle of water coming out of the hole

Cully, your going to win our race. I have to hold off now. My lease is up on october 30th, and im in the process of buying a house. So needless to say no point in setting up a 75 rr with sump and all the fixings, just to break it down in 2 months! Today is a sad day for me! LOL

Ah, what are ya worried about. You can use that time to get rocks curing, build up your livestock etc... It's not wasted time.

You should have seen the basement of my old appartment before we bought this house. 2 Rubbermaid brutes for salt and fresh RO water. 2 more with about 100# of LR curing in it. Equipment up the Wazoo. Our spare bedroom had the 180 in it. Looked like someone either knocked over a phone booth, or Sleeping Beauty escaped her glass coughin. I had pumps, powerheads, lighting everywhere. Looked like MarineDepot.com puked in my spare room.

I say go for it!

They are quite similar. Especially when it comes to losing money. But here's a test. Turn off the lights in the room with your fish tank in it. Have your Fiancee sit there too. Now, You leave, lock the door behind you.

Come back in 2 hours. Pick the one that yells at you the least, and go with that choice.

Nice! looks like my fish tank wins! I always knew i could count on you cully to stear me in right direction! some times im just not thinking! Cant wait to see ur tank! Man its gonna be sweet!

Yep, outta work early, gotta stop farting around on RC and get to HD so I can get this pig plumbed tonight and FW test it tomorrow!

Good luck with the marriage to your fish tank.

LOL! thanks i have to many people helping me out with that i think its going to be the marriage to amber that im going to need help with

hey cully , u might want to cover your overflow if your going to do pipes. pipes like to stick there nose in everything

How should I cover it? I usually do tinfoil just to keep light out avoiding algae growth. It has also saved a jumper in the past. But pipes could squeeze thru the grates/slats. How would I avoid that??

All of my current will be coming in up near there. Will that be a deterent ya think?
