I am willing to host another meeting, but would really prefer to shoot for December or January - that gives me time to have accumulated some peppermint shrimp and maybe some arrow crabs from my stone crab traps and be able to give them out to those interested.
If I get the bod approval, you guys are more than welcome to have a joint meeting with us next month. We are having our elections but we are also having James Fartheree speaking and you would all enjoy that. LMK.
Just MHO - I don't think we need the formality of a co-meeting, some of our members attend other groups already. It is a great opportunity to attend other meetings and feel so welcome but I like our informality.
It stinks that we didn't have a Sept meeting and don't have a volunteer for Oct but good news that Nov and Dec look promising.
I think all of us care about ANCHOR and fellow members/friends but we are still a small group and there aren't enough people for months.
Maybe we could have an unofficial policy of encouraging people that are new and receive frags or our meeting freebies to sign up to host a meeting.
Fote03 has reintroduced me to G'ville meetings and I have met 3 other reefers up there that are willing to travel down to attend ANCHOR meetings but as he said, G'ville is a long way for ANCHOR members to commit to a meeting. Heck, Crystal River is a long enough way that I only host once a year.
I think we are doing good for asking every month for a host but if we hit every other month or so not to be discouraged.
I'd love to host in theory.. However, given the current state of our finances, I couldn't host properly, and I know my wife would have a problem with that..
I'm sorry that I haven't been able to volunteer guys. We are just so swamped with "stuff" it is all I can do to maintain my tank and my sanity. Football, band, boyfriends, school, work and home make Diane a dull girl.
