Octopus "Extreeme" Skimmer Line

The externals do have a drain line on the cups... look close. Internals... well, you dont want them on internals usually.

I've heard that all coralvue supplied wholesalers are getting the octo extreme's with the regular octo pump's and only the swc supplied dealers are getting the octo extreme's with the sicce pump's. Is this true?

Man, I would hope not. They really wouldn't be so extreme afterall:lol:

Coral Vue will not have the SWC xtreme skimmers with the Sicce pumps! They will only be available from SWC dealers. Thanks

I was planing on purchusing the Octopus DNW-150 Recirculating
Protein Skimmer. Should I wait for the extereme? Is It alot better? What would it be rated for?

Wow, more durable than a Sicce? Considering how many people there are with Turbine pumps that blow out, Im shocked there arent more Sicce owners reporting the same. I bet its just 'we believe its more reliable {only costs us $5 to make} than the sicce {that would cost us $40 more!}'.

Hi,

Ya, it's hard to say on the pumps on which is better, but i'm sure cost always plays a role.

I think we'll get out an extreme TS150 and PS150 because i would like to see how they perform, since it's almost the same skimmer except with a different neck design.

On the external, main difference is that's recirculating skimmer. Basically makes it a little more efficient, since the needle pump's only job is making bubbles and small feed pump takes care of the flow, plus gives you the ability to run it external if you want.

Thanks Jasonfrey,

I have a total of about 65g volume, but I want to stock it heavily with sps and soft corals as well as lots of small fish. You think getting the external one rated 350 gallons is ok, or overkill?
