I was able to see your Video on Josh's computer. It's hard to tell where the leak was coming from. A crack or the fitting itself? If it's the fitting, i would remove it and wrap with Teflon tape and see if that takes care of the problem. If it's a crack, could use PVC cement if it's on the pipework, acrylic glue if it's on the acrylic part.
We could just exchange it if it's cracked though.
As to the water level issues, it looks like you are testing it with freshwater and that won't give you the correct results because of the bubble size. Once you add salt, you'll see a huge difference in the bubble size and water level in the skimmer.
