how much would a pair like this go for? because i have NEVER seen anyone sell a onyx and perc pair...

It is really hard to tell wether or not they are or are not onyx, sometimes its just a variation of an onyx. I have a female true perc that looks just like your male perc, but its just a variation of a true perc. chances are that if you bought it as a true perc, its probably a true perc.

so are you saying they are both just reg percs, and not onyx...? or one is one isnt?
tx for clearing this up for me.

Its hard to tell, they could both be true percs if you ask me, thats what I would say, but they are still cool.

But then Again, I am no clown expert.

Try the anemone and clownfish forum, I am sure they have about 20 clown experts.

onyx is just a coined phrase to market clowns with more black in them. They aren't a breed of fish, just clownfish (percs) from Solmon Isle from what i've seen, and some have more black then others.

yes, i know that, i was just wondering if these were considered onyx, so when i sell them in a few weeks i know how much to sell them for.

The standard definition for onyx is that black connects the white stripes. It doesn't have to fill the space between the white completely (although that is the most desirable), but it must at least bridge the white stripes both front and back.

So, your female is onyx and your male is not. IMO, your male is actually the nicer fish because his black is so crisp.
