How in the devil do I get the hood off an older (orig) JBJ 12 gal Nano Cube ???? The hinges are, shall we say, interesting. I'm really trying not to break them, but a cut off wheel is starting to look good. What am I missing besides common sense ??

i just used some angle cutters and cut off the hood first and then i cut off the numbs. im never gonna use the old hood since it now lives in the garbage.

thats interesting... I was asking myself the same question the other day. So... the only way is to damage it???

Than how the hell did they get the thing on in the first place??? Where's my det cord when I need it???? ARRRGGGGG!!!!!!

I tried to get it off my nano cube at one point but There was no way I could without cutting. When I was at coral paradise, I saw jim did the same thing with it, so I am stumped.

i think you just pull straight out and it will come out, i might be wrong but give it a try?

Ditto

Start at one side, the back left or right. Just be careful not to crack it. I only cracked 3 of them. LOL!

Not by taking the hood off though.

Hold the curved front firm against your belly, place 2 fingers and the thumb on the canopy on both corners. The other 2 fingers stay just below the canopy on the back glass. Slightly lift the canopy(about an inch or so open) with your thumbs. Pull straight forward with your fingers on the canopy. It'll give a pop, then it's free.

Ray, That worked, but jeeez was that scary and not just a simple lift and tug either !!!! Not exactly up for the hinge of the year award.

Thanks
