Ot: Lakers vs Magic

If Duncan is 84, that makes Kobe 82... Since theyre only 2 years apart in age. Jefferson will guard Kobe Id imagine. who is going to guard Parker, Fisher? lol. Thats funny.

Sun Yue will guard Parker.

Orlando has no shot next year. Hedo is going to leave for more money. Cavs are going to trade for shaq. Boston will be healthy next year. The spurs have a better shot to get to the finals then your orlando magic. Derek can not guard Parker but he sure can hit a clutch three pointer! But you already know that. Next year the clippers have a better shot to make the finals then the magic, if the clippers are healthy

Joe,

Finally I have figured you out. Let me sum it up in 4 words...

YOU
HATE
THE
LAKERS

So, now that we got that clear, I'll assume all your comments would automatically point to how teams other than the Lakers will win the championship in the next year, 2 years, 100 years.

I think the trades are interesting, but I see no smoking gun atm that tells me any of the teams will fair better than the other. So for now the teams that were good in the playoffs this year will be good next year, regardless of this trade.

the only way this trade could possibly help san antonio is if all oberto and thomas come back if (that's a big IF) they're immediately released, and play for the veteran minimum... and i don't see that happening. they're letting go of 2 starters and their main backup big man.
they'll go to contenders for one year deals... celtics or lakers. i'd love to see kurt thomas in a lakers uni. i've been saying that for years (but that was the early to mid part of this decade)... but we'll be fine w/o him.
jefferson is a competitor and a well rounded player... but he can't defend the way bowen did. + he can't hit that three consistently... that means only 1 player (ginobili... who is also streaky at times) can hit a three on the perimeter. FAIL.

LOL! This thread is still goin??

Lakers will own whoever they play against. They're just getting started! Back to back to back to back to back....you get what i mean ;)

Lol.... I love seeing the Lakers fans become so worked up.

I do have a legit question.... Why are you all LAKERS fans, rather than CLIPPERS fans? lol

1st of all, because donald sterling is one of the worst/cheapest owners in pro sports that makes poor choices in front office personell, free agent signings, draft pics and consistently squanders any young talent that somehow (against all odds)manages to develop

2nd, lakers are a team of rich history that many of us have grown up watching. a team that we stuck w/ through the good times and bad... who went from the top of the world to mediocrity, then back to the top (when they crushed your group of weaklings;) )
------------
that said, there are a whole bunch of dumba** lakers fans out there. it was pretty embarassing to see how some chose to celebrate the finals victory. also, we have the quietest arena in the nba... but all that speaks volumes on is the price and unavailability of tickets. people who attend these games are usually higher profile people who have no real interest in the games... just being seen and heard.
but we must have a million diehards out here that still know what it means to be a fan. out of curiosity jflip... how long have you been a magic fan? honestly... and what brought you over?

There are idiot fans in EVERY sport, pulling for EVERY team (Im an Eagles fan, so I know this first hand). I have been a Magic fan since Penny's rookie year. I claimed Orlando during the all star weekend that year, when he won the MVP of the game. Theyve been my guys ever since.

It was CRAZY!!!!!!

clippers never pay their top players/drafts to make the team competitive!!!

So how much is rashard and Howard making? Rashard had one good game in the finals. And howard got outlplayed by a supposedly soft gasol. Stop hating! Magic will never win with ron jeremy as their coach. The guy said experiance means nothing! Experiance won the lakers a championship. They new what it takes to win a finals game from past experiance!

Rashard and DH12 make about $4m a year more than Kaman and Randolph; those contracts are hardly comparable.

Im just saying its clear why Lakers fans are Lakers fans, as opposed to Clippers fans. My teams may have not won a championship in recent memory, but at least that means I cant be a front runner.

I think the contracts are comparable. In the NBA in the end 2nd place is just as bad as last place. The only differance is the clippers started their vacation earlier and got the 1st pick in the draft. Clippers next year will be as good as the magic next year. I guarentee it. Just like I guarenteed lakers in 5.

Shaq is a cav! Man I was hoping shaq would come back for the veteran minimum and retire a laker. Shaq is still a force. I think even at his at age he is still top 3 in centers in the leauge. He still has two good years left.

Shaq is a cav!

Imagine a Lakers/Cav finals for next year! Kobe, Pau, Shaq & Labrone. Yikes! NBA would be drooling over that possibility.
