OT - Snowmageddon

I don't want to jinx it, but the news reports are coming together right now for a foot to two feet of snow. Still a bit out, but we don't take storms lightly at our house. The wind storm the other day knocked out our power for the day. My son is filling the garage with a half a cord of wood tonight, and we are filling the gas cans for the generator. Also, don't forget to air up your snow tubes, and grease your sleds :bounce2:

Bit of a doomsday preper lol. You can never have too much ammo, food (have over 100 pounds of MRE's), wood, fuel, etc, etc.

Its gonna be a much smoother transition this time around with the apex. Many less plugs to switch over to the gen haha.

But why does it have to go and come on a weekend. We could at least use a couple days off haha

What a difference a few miles make. All we're supposed to get on this side of the sound is some rain and sleet.

Still a ways out, and may be nothing. I am giddy just thinking about it is all. Sorry to the snow haters, but come on blizzard!

LOL, I JUST heard "possibility for a blockbuster snow storm..." on a weather report.

they just said on the radio, this is a cant miss storm, not sure what that really means but a foot is expected and i do hope i can survive. my tank is hangin on for dear life as it is, this could be the nail in the coffin. my neighborhood was rife with gen thefts last storm plus i cant afford one now. i hope my litte inverter will keep the water moving. 100w will work for two PHs and one heater.

I bought a mini generator just for the fish tank lol. It will have to survive while i am not home but can at least run at night.

I found out when Sandy came through that my generator burns a gallon of gas per hour. I don't mind snow, but I hope we don't lose power, at least not for an extended period.

I really hope that the outlet for my new tank is on the generator, because I didn't think of that until I had already moved and filled it. I'm pretty sure it's on the same circuit, and I guess I'll find out. :-)

Holy crap, that doesn't seem right. What size is that?

I ran mine for 24/7 times three days. Think we went through around 25 gallons- or 3 hours of run per gallon.

My generator specs say that it will run for 10 hours on a 5 gallon tank. I've honestly never "clocked" it to see how it compares to the manual's claims.

And they have the nerve to call it storm NEMO!!! That's not even funny in the reef community since we are actually trying to keep all our nemos alive lol
