Aside from the physical advantage (4" height and 5" reach advantage for Oscar), there's also a sizable difference in boxing skills. Pacquiao is the mirror image of Hatton, with their forward/bulldog approach. I don't hold Oscar's boxing skills in high regard, but it's more advanced than Manny's.
As far as 'heart' goes, Oscar's proven himself quite often in the past, against much higher caliber opposition. He's tasted the power of some big fighters, too. If you look closer at his losses, you'll realize that they were to fighters who were superior tacticians in the ring.
Unfortunately, Manny doesn't have that advantage.
