Perry's 120 Gallon Reef

Dan,
Keep me informed, and update the thread, I will stop by and take a look at your progression :)
Regards,

Ya of course my friend . Love the pics update by the way. Ya i think i need 2 more bigger fish. Just waiting for my black tang when i get a bit more funds ..

Thank You cFloor!

Dan, thank for the kind words too! I have been organizing the tank today, as I have moved out some non-sps corals. I still have a garden of zoas, frogspawn, torch, and other lps variety, of course my rics are fat and healthy and going nowhere, I know how to keep the peace with my girlfriend, lol... My future plans with the tank are to acquire locally, a powermodule 8 bulb ati fixture to replace my current tek elite 8 bulb fixture. I think I will get a bit more par, and hopefully I can color my corals even more. We shall see... Hopefully within the next week the light will go up. My funds are tight, so projects and enhancements, and livestock have to be carefully planned...

A recent FTS of the current layout.

Nicely done, has a very natural looking feel to it

+1!
The sand has a very blown around look and seem to be only in He centre of the tank. Is that how it naturally settles?
I think it's cool. My sand would never stay like that.

I like it. I like the way it flows up on both sides, and of course all that extra space on the left.

Thanks Mark! The extra space is definitely going to come in handy when I find some new ones to plug down :)

Very nice Perry

Thanks Greg, the tank is kinda settling in, as I continue to move non-sps out, I am thinking of a nano tank with some of my corals that are not too happy with what my goby is doing to them, covering daily in sand:headwally:

Love that latest FTS Perry, the layout is looking really cool :)

Thank you Andrew, I am pleased with the layout, now I need to get some frags and glue :)

Thanks Matt, The water moves hard from left to right, the sand never really did well, sort of bare bottom on that spot. I decided to make a frag rack that sits even to the trim on the bottom of the tank, so you cannot see it unless looking downwards. If you are interested, I will take a pic to show you, the rack start just underneath the birdsnest, then makes a 90 degree turn towards the back of the tank about 3/4 of the way, make an "L" shape if you will. This allows me to put frags down there out of the way. It is fully encrusted with coralline, so you really cannot tell its there.

Looking great buddy.

Cheers Sahin, thanks for the compliment, hope all is well your way!!!

Hey Perry, love the layout, and I'm with Mutt, the sand has made a very interesting scape. It is kin to some of the freshwater scapes I've seen with raised architecture. It really adds an element of depth that is hard to achieve. Bravo! Keep up the good work, and keep posting more of those beautiful pictures. :)

Thanks Nate!!! I appreciate you kind words man :) As far as aesthetics go, I have a bit of OCD, lol... I know this reef structure is a bit different, but the idea was to achieve a floating reef appearance with mainly sps on top tiers. I have been able to create caves for the fish, while keeping open space in the front. To be honest, the diamond goby is really the one to recognize, puts sand wherever it wants, this is just how it ends up:) Anyway, here are a few different angles...

This one based on Matt's interest, here is the rack in the bottom portion of this pic, showing the "L" shaped design for my monti corner :)
