Perry's 120 Gallon Reef

That latest FTS is crazy beautiful Perry, the colors developing are obvious between those two sets of comparison pics. Great work buddy

Wow! Your tank is looking awesome. Your new frags are nice, tons of potential.

Thanks cFloor, I appreciate the compliments, the nutrient reduction levels I am using seem to show improvement in coloration. The glass is being swiped every 3 days now, I think that is my sweet spot. Currently dosing zeostart3 @ 1.2ml per day, and MB7 @ 1ml every other day.

Hey Perry, wanted to stop in and say hey. The updated FTS looks incredible. It looks like the frags are gaining a little bit of color and have grown some. I hope that my corals will do the same, once I get around to it. Keep up the awesome work, and keep posting the pics!

Thanks Nate, things are improving in terms of colors, I can see my stubborn acros now shifting to proper color from off coloration. In the upcoming weeks I look to get more professional pics done, my father has an amazing camera and lenses, and a great eye, so stay tuned...lol

Andrew,
Thanks Mate for the side by side, that really shows the transition of coloration, like I said when they were first plugged, they look good, but a tad washed, you can now see the shift in the base and tips of the PL and RWM. Thanks again :)

Perry, you scrolled to page 2 of my subscribed thread list!

Have I asked you for your light cycle yet? How long are the t5's on, how long are the LED on, do you dim the led, stuff like that?

If you want to throw in a picture of that RR to shame mine I'd be delighted. I'll print it out and hold it in front of the tank. :lolspin:

Mark, I have used this combo since Jan 2015. I took some pics the other day, let me see if I got one of the RR, lol... Anyway, I will stick to these bulbs again when I change out, I am very pleased with the combo.

KZ Superblue is a great bulb, isn't it. A very nice dark blue. I find the B+
to be almost whitish in comparison.

Thanks Dom,
I will have to see if I can bust out the camera this weekend, looks like it's going to be a rainy one here, so I better get the battery charged for the camera, lol...

Thanks, I happen to like all the KZ bulbs, but do agree the Superblue is beautiful :)

Center shot today, I cleaned up some infringing corals, hence fragging, moved some based on aesthetics, overall happy with the tank. Also update pic on monti corner, have 4 different montis growing at the bottom corner of my tank, allowing them to grow however they want :)

Looking absolutely fantastic Perry :) That monti corner is so cool too, looks like they're enjoying their banishment :p haha colours are stunning though!

Very nice buddy. Tank is filling in nicely now. :)

Thanks Sahin! The corals are getting bigger and filling in, pleased with the structure, still need to tidy up some areas, pocci multiplying faster than anemones, lol.. Just used the biggles method of a syringe and boiling RODI water, knocked off a couple problem areas this morning :hammer:

Hey Perry, thanks for the shots! What coral is the 5th one down? Miyagi Tort? The growth pattern in beautiful.

Thanks Nate, while that pic is of my Cali Blue Tort, I have a colony that is close to the miyagi, best ID I got was ORA Ice Tort. I will have to snap a pic of that said colony, it never gets attention, kind of banished to the back of the tank because the color was too close to my Miami Orchid, however, it has started to show less purple(like the Miami Orchid), and is morphing to greenish blue base with whitish blue towards the tip, giving that ice like appearance. I am actually going to relocate it for show, once I figure out what to do about the flubber at the bottom of my tank. My GF wants to keep all the flubbery corals, so it looks like I may have another tank soon, probably a nano to keep her happy, while I use all possible room for my sps love. As long as those rics don't go anywhere I am safe, not going to even entertain that idea, or else this is me :blown:

Lovely!!!

Thanks shih87! Funny thing about the ponape is that the guy who gave me a bunch of corals asked whether I wanted to keep it, or throw it into the yard, lol... The corals was in pretty bad shape. I kept it anyway, and it is now a stunner. Unfortunately it is one of those overlooked corals out there, IMO a hard one to get proper color, and also does not contend with all those "Ultra Uber Limited Addition" corals that seem so popular! While I have a few named ones, my wallet was not violated in acquiring them :D

Thanks Dom! That pic of monti corner was for you mate :eek1: I agree the colors are nice given their shading and low light. The season's greeting is now encrusting all over the eggcrate stand, seems as though it is a happy coral. I moved the jedi mind trick down to the bottom to be a part of the monti fun, I also cleared my frag rack down there recently. I do however now have 3 frags of the RR stag... They are ready for trade

Ah yes, the concessions we make for those that need some "movement" in the tank . Good for you for keeping the peace, although Andrew I'm certain will have some words with you about this later.....

Good call on giving the Monti's their own space, they can get pretty big quick, and they can turn into a centerpiece - whether you want them to or not. The Cali Tort is gorgeous, I just picked up a piece a couple of days ago, compliments of my brother. Hopefully it will look at great as yours. I need to get back on my thread with some updates....

Tank looks great, and thanks for giving us a FTS. Stunning!

You already have a toilet with just the right amount of surging flow to suit that flubber Perry, no need to waste money on a nano.........;)

I love checking out your updates Perry, your acros are so healthy looking and saturated with pigments every time you post updated pics mate. Beautiful stuff, you should be proud of what you're achieving my friend

Thanks Nate,
I appreciate the compliments my friend :) Funny thing is I wish the cali tort was a bit lower in the tank, I love the contrast of the green with the blue which shows more prominence at a lower par. Don't be afraid to hit me up when you are ready to stuff your tank, I have plenty to trim :)

Andrew, lol, that flubber stays, if I know what is good for me :) Good idea though, lol... I really appreciate your compliments regarding my tank, on a serious note though, still a work in progress however, just had some cyano decide to make it's presence known, so looks like I have a new set of challenges on my hands...
