Picasso / Rodonyx FIRST BATCH OF EMBRYOS

Rod that means alot coming from you. the more i get into this breeding process, the more i realize how amazing your clowns are. for anyone interested in my clowns, i strongly advise to consider buying rods first. his are proven. a high percentage of them dev. very good color and body.

mine are far from this. i have no clue what they will be. you would take a risk acquiring any of my clowns at this point.

anyway, update i have an additional 500 that are on the 2.5 week mark :) ive made some changes in the culturing that i think will make a diff in dev. from the first 200. time will tell if it was a good change.

the first 4 batches i have a total of 200 babies survive. batch 5, i have over 500 survive :) so so far something is going right. just have to focus on developing there quailty

thanks delboy. ! :) if your inspired by this, that makes the enduring process worth the effort. the more clownlovers the better :)

embryonyx 2/21/07 : some appear to have good black dev. also note, the first headband, covers edge of eye, similar to male rodonyx. also some appear to have very wide headbands. some headbands from the top almost go past the eyes. similar to snowflakes, which is odd. not sure where that feature is coming from. also first pic is true visual color. no flash. they are blood red, all of them.

I've said it over the IM and i'll say it on here, you MUST lecture on clown breeding when this is over ;-)

i agree with tnyr5 or you could write a book i would love that
are you ready to disclose what you are going to do different with the fry to get the coloration your looking for?

So amazing...add me to your list of inspired folk, but chances are I'm only going to end up trying to raise one batch at a time...real life is enough work without trying to raise 1,000 lil fishes.

I want the 4th one up right in the middle of pic 2! & the black one in the back of pic 1 :D I'll take those 2 and tell you how well they are doing next year?

Very cool embryoguy! I have an active spawning pair of Rod's Onyx, but it sure seems like an awful lot of work to try and raise them ... kudo's to you!

thanks sara. youve seen rods setup and clowns in person. so im sure you can appreciate the quality of his clowns. ive always liked his clowns but after going thru the process myself, i have more of an appreciation for there quality.

i owe alot to rod and several others for there help for me to even reach this point.

Yes, Rod and his clowns are awesome! I even plan on getting a second pair for my new 225 gallon that I'm setting up.

The pics you are showing isa about the size of the one I took home from Rod at IMAC. Barely showing a mid-stripe:) The growth will slow considerably int he next few weeks.

Keep us posted, and great job, great looking fish.
