pink lemonade

has anyone had this in their system? how hard are they to keep and what lighting do they need? Why are some photos with a green base while others are orangish? thanks

Mine looks so different. It is pink/yellow body with lavender axials and polyps. Never got the green. Beautiful PE and really stunning corals, I'll get a shot.

fliger

what lights do you have it under and how much flow? thanks.
going to see if i can get a frag of it the next time it's available

It was doing kick A$$ under T5/660 before and lost a little color since I turned on the 250W Ushio 14K's (very white/bright). I'm going to move it out of the MH soon. Flow is everywhere in my tank, can't avoid it.

I have mine under 400w 20K halide, about 20 inches below the light. It has developed the green body, but to be honest, I'd rather have it look like yours, David.

Still a cool coral but selling for way too much, IMO. But that is the beauty of our country, isn't it:)

BTW- Notice to everyone: I DO NOT have any frags of this coral available! Everytime I post in a thread about this coral, I get 20 PM's asking if I want to sell a frag. :D

Under 10k t5's mine looks yellow with a green tint, while the polyps are a light pink. Under actinics though, it looks just like the pic on exotic reefs. mine has grown about 1/4" in about a month, while the base has encrusted an area much greater than the vertical length of the frag. Mine is also getting indirect flow from 2 seio 1500's in a 90g tank. Good luck finding a frag of this as waiting lists are quite long. Prices are well, you know.

I have my frag under 14K Hamiltons. It has crazy PE. I was told if it's placed lower in the tank, the coral will turn green. The higher up it is, it'll turn yellow. It's simply a unique looking SPS.

I said the body was yellow/pink - its kinda more yellowish with some hints of green. It is my favorite coral and not a superfast grower but since my tank has stablized, I think its grown about 1/2" in the last month. The PE is great though, some of the best PE in my tank - and they're big polyps so it looks really nice.

ok very nice eveyone now were do i get mine :)

It's likely to only be an auction piece through ExoticReefs.

You can try PM'ing Hugo (snipersps) directly. He had them for $125 at last months Coral Farmers Market. You can also get on atlantisaquarium.net 's waiting list. I think they have it for $100.

I really like dealing with Eric at fragfarmer.com . He might still have some, too.

i just got an order from eric saturday. I must say he sure has some nice stuff. I wonder why he did not tell me that he had some :( i would have had him throw it in the box of stuff i bought. He did send me a free frag of his poker star :) now thats service.

Wow. I got mine from a guy in LA. To be honest I didn't know what it was when I bought it, and he only charged me $50 since I bought some other things. He told me it was "pink lemonade" but I hadn't heard of it before. I thought it was kinda high ($50 being a 'good deal') but I got it anyway. Now that its settled in I've very happy with the purchase, especially because it's multi-branching. I won't post anymore until i get a pic, sorry. :)

It's been around for awhile. I'm pretty sure it originated from Tyree's collection, than made it's way to the ExoticReefs crew. After a couple of years, it sort of became an afterthought, until Hugo got it to develop a green base.

Next thing you know, it's the hottest thing:p
