Im currently have a 55 gal tank switching to 210 gal tank that is going through the cycle stage. I currently have a blue hippo tang, yellow tang, and a clown fish. The fish i would like to add once im through the set up stage and completly up and running are as follows. Naso blondie, powder blue and/or powder brown, emperor angel, queen angel, and a school of chromis. With my current fish whats ones can I add with avoiding any fighting. My top two that I want are the naso and the powder. the others are wishful thinking.

Hi!

Looking to buy a tiny Juv emporor and put him in my 65 gal tank untill a few inches long when i will upgrade the tank. problem is i have a juv yellow tang in there (slighly bigger than the emperor), LFS said the tang would attack the emperor, is this true? i also have a valentini puffer but didnt think that would be a problem,

thanks

That is a lot of large fish in a moderately sized tank. Those fish, once mature will make a 210 gallon tank look small. Of the fish you have, the yellow tang will be the most aggressive towards new comers, especially those that inhabit the same ecological niche. The powder blue is probably the most suitable of the two you want. The two angels are probably mutually exclusive, but one should be fine.

The yellow tang will preclude adding the angel. Why not wait until you upgrade before buying fish that cannot exist long term in your current tank?

I have a 55 gallon mixed reef w/ a 10 gallon sump and 2 x 54 watt T5 fixture.
I currently have
2 Fire Clowns
2 Green Chromis
1 Firefish (Red)
1 Bangaii Cardinal
1 Pajama Cardinal
a mix of some LPS, SPS, Softies, BTA
about 60# LR and 40# Coarse Substrate.
I was wondering if I could get away with a Sailfin Tang (about 1") and keep him til I upgrade to either a 75 or 90 depending on what I can find. If not do a Sailfin, what other fish would you recommend that I can do? Is my bioload to much?

My planned fish list

My planned fish list

Hey guys, I'm planning a rimless tank build. I already have a fish list I would like to stock and would like some feedback, and also suggestions on when to introduce each fish.

2 Ocellaris Clownfish
Yellow Tang
Blue Hippo Tang
Ignitus Anthias
Tail Spot Goby
Flame Angel
Regal Angel

-Varies Species for Clean Up Crew

I plan to run a 20-30 gallon sump, reef octopus 6 skimmer, uv sterilizer, media reactor, and also a refugium with chaeto and dsb. There will also be plenty of live rock in the display with good rockscape plenty of room to swim and hiding spots, and a nice bed of fiji pink sand.

A sailfin tang would not do well in a 75 or 90 so buying this fish would be unwise. As those who follow this thread know, I do not make recommendations for a variety of reasons. I will be happy to provide commentary on any stocking list however.

Hey everyone. I'm upgrading my 55 to a 90 gal and wanted to check out my new fish additions. I'm going to have a 90 gal with ~100lbs of lr a 2" sand bed sump, skimmer, refugium, and carbon reactor.

The fish that are making the move are:
2x ORA extreme misbar clowns
1x Starry Blenny
2x Blue Reef Chromis
and possibly a Red Fin Fairy Wrasse

I would like to add into the 90 the following:
Chevron Tang (as a juvenile, realizing that he will outgrow my system, and will upgrade/pass on when needed)
Blue Spot Jawfish (a bonded pair if I can find one)
Lyretail Anthias (I have the chance to get one male and two females. Possibly add another female?)

Would appreciate any advice as far as my limits. Going to have some pretty aggressive filtration

Chevron Tang (as a juvenile, realizing that he will outgrow my system, and will upgrade/pass on when needed) an excellent fish that is marginal for a 90 gallon tank
Blue Spot Jawfish (a bonded pair if I can find one) do best at cooler temperatures and require a fairly deep sand bed, ideally with PVC homes embedded within it and rock rubble.
Lyretail Anthias (I have the chance to get one male and two females. Possibly add another female?)

Would appreciate any advice as far as my limits. Going to have some pretty aggressive filtration

Well... What type of goby(ies) or wrasses would be ok with adding to my current fish?

Do some research, repost your potential stocking list, and I will happily provide commentary.

After some research I have come up with this list. I have another tang choice for after I upgrade too.
Clown Goby
Christmas Wrasse
Tri-Color Fairy Wrasse
Filamented Flasher Wrasse
Carpenter's Flasher Wrasse

How many of these fish could I be able to do in my 55?
Which one's would be best?
And then after I upgrade to a 75 or 90 could I do a Tomini Tang?

How many of these fish could I be able to do in my 55? flasher wrasses require about a 50 gallon tank, so one of those. Fairy wrasses, similar. Clown gobies are small but you only can have one unless they are a mated pair

A tomini tang would work in the upgraded tank size after you do so.

So I could go ahead and do a flasher wrasse, a fairy wrasse, and a clown goby (unless mated pair) and then get the tang after I upgrade. Correct?

Since I gave you minimum tank size, and because requirements tend to be somewhat additive (although not exactly so), it would be best to wait for additional fish purchases until after you upgrade. None of these fish are uncommon so getting them will be easy.
