starting a 180g reef tank with 60g sump.Six feet long. Want 3 or four compatible tangs..Any suggestions?

As those who follow this thread know, I do not provide recommendations; however I am always ready to provide analysis of a fish list provided. However if you want to keep more than one tang in a 180 gallon tank, your best options are from the Ctenochaetus family.

I would like to add a yellow banded possum wrasse.

I would like to add a yellow banded possum wrasse.

I would like to add a yellow banded possum wrasse to my 24 gallon nanocube. I currently have a peppermint shrimp, perc clown fish, royal gramma, yellow watchman goby and tiger pistol shrimp. I also have few snails (astrea and turbo) and hermit crabs. Do you think I will have a problem adding the possum wrasse?

you should be fine. However that will pretty much max out your bioload.

hi steve!
i have a 29g with 35lbs lr, a large cave and several small caves. right now i have one tailspot blenny, 2 nassarius and 3 blue legged hermits. this is my wish list in the order i expect to add...
pair helfrichs firefish
small fairy or flasher wrasse
perc clown
one fireshrimp

would this work? i expected the blenny to be a mostly sand dweller but that is not the case. he has chosen a spot high up on the rockwork and stays up there. so i'm wondering if i can add a bottom dweller to the list, and do you have a suggestion? i was thinking a scooter dragonet.

tank is only about 2 months old and i do not run a skimmer or any other filtration. just ph's and wc's. i do run an hob with carbon during wc's to help remove gunk.
thanks!

pair helfrichs firefish for this to work, you would need totally peaceful tank mates and a male + female. Also, these are prolific jumpers so your tank would have to be tightly covered (not egg crate)
small fairy or flasher wrassetank is not large enough and would intimidate your firefish
perc clown may intimidate your firefish once mature
one fireshrimp

Hey, brand new to Reef Central. I have a fluval osaka 260l. I have 70 lbs of live rock with a 3" live sand bed. Need some stocking ideas I am new to saltwater. I plan on doing a reef tank down the line, but my light needs to be upgraded and I need a protein skimmer.

I currently have:
2 True Perculas
4 Turbo Snails
4 Cerith Snails
7 Small Assorted Hermit Crabs
4 Electric Blue Hermit Crabs

Wanting:
1 shrimp/prawn goby with pistol shrimp
1 lawnmower blenny
1 wrasse
1 blue/green chromis
1 royal gramma
1 kole tang

Would pairing a shrimp/prawn goby with a pistol shrimp cause any aggression towards others?

What wrasse would you recommend?

Would this be fine? Would I be able to put anything else in? If so, what else would be good? What order should I get them in? I have been told that I should put most aggressive last.

My goal is to have a nice peaceful tank with the Kole tang as my show piece.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

That is not a problem

What wrasse would you recommend?

As those who follow this thread know, I do not provide recommendations. On the other hand, I would be happy to provide compatibility commentary if you want to update your fish list.

Would this be fine? Would I be able to put anything else in? If so, what else would be good? What order should I get them in? I have been told that I should put most aggressive last.

That is correct. Most aggressive last, most passive, first.

My goal is to have a nice peaceful tank with the Kole tang as my show piece.

Help would be greatly appreciated.

I am always happy to help.

all have the same behavior characteristics and one of those would be fine.
I am thinking I am going to do this

I currently have:
2 True Perculas
4 Turbo Snails
4 Cerith Snails
7 Small Assorted Hermit Crabs
4 Electric Blue Hermit Crabs

Wanting:
1 shrimp/prawn goby with pistol shrimp
1 lawnmower blenny
1 blue/green chromis
1 wrasse from list above
1 royal gramma
1 kole tang

Would getting them in that order work?

Would that max out my bio load or would I be able to add anything else?

Thanks for your help

Tank - 75 gallon with ~100 lbs rock, ~3-4" sandbad, 29 gallon sump. Tank is either cycled or very near awaiting initial CUC.

Currently have:
1 - Cryptocentrus cinctus (Yellow Watchman Goby) in QT

Desired Fish:
1 - Centropyge loriculus (Flame Angelfish)
1 - Nemateleotris decora (Purple Firefish)
2 or 3 - Sphaeramia nematoptera (Spotted Cardinalfish)
2 - A. ocellaris or A. percula (Clownfish)
1 - Salarias fasciatus (Sailfin Blenny) or Salarias ramosus (Starry Blenny)
1 - Siganus vulpinus (Foxface Lo)
1 - Chelmon rostratus (Copperband Butterflyfish)

If possible (not necessary) after addition of previous and bioload will handle it I would like to add:

Either

1 up to 3: Nemanthias carberry (Carberryi Anthias)

or

1 up to 3: Flasher Wrasses of either
- Paracheilinus mccosker (McCosker's)
- Paracheilinus cyaneus (Blue)
- Paracheilinus lineopunctatus (Linespot)

Thanks for your experienced advice.

Thanks for the input. As far as the Blennys are concerned the plan was only for one; I'm just undecided between the Sailfin and the Starry at this point.

Are there any fish on the list that should be added in a specific spot in the order?

Also, between the Anthias and the Wrasse which do you think would fit better into the above group?

I would opt for the sailfin

either from a personality perspective, the wrasse may be more interesting.

I think that is about the max bio load because the clownfish, once sexually mature will want to control about 25-30 gallons
