Ok so my tank (40B) is finally cycling (fish-less of course) and my uncycled QT is also ready to go so my question now is:... In what order should I add fish?

Here is my list and the order I think should work.

Tank raised B&W Juvenal Ocellaris Clowns -2

Tank raised Bangai Cardinals -2

Blue/Green Reef Chromis -1

And last a Coral Beauty Angel or Eibl's Angel -1

I am very open to suggestions and ideas concerning the order in which to add these fish, let me know if you see any trouble with any of the breeds getting along also!

Thanks!

I'll go ahead and throw my desires out there for my new SPS tank build

120 DT, 75 Sump, 29 Fuge.

Picasso Percula Pair
Lyretail Anthias 1M 2F
Mandarin
Diamond Goby
Bellus Angelfish
Wrasse (Mystery probably - Lineatus if I feel froggy)
Purple Tang

Should be fine but I would choose a flasher wrasse pair or triad in lieu of a mstery wrasse

Should be fine but the Bangaii cardinals must be a M + F pair and I would keep thje order you have with the angel last

I feel the list is compatible, but no large fish should be added. Several small fish can be considered as long as they play well together
Ok, I'll just go with 1 cardinal or perhaps a M/F pair.

How large is "large" for any further additions? I definitely wouldn't be getting anything bigger than what I've already got in there, but would there be room for another tang? Maybe a scopas or a powder brown?

Thanks again

That would make 3 largish fish (with another tang) which would be marginal with three vegetarian grazers.

Hi again here is my current planned list I wanted to run by :)

90g w/40g sump/fuge (fish only live rock with some inverts)

(added in order)

Blue Chromis
Yellow Clown Goby
one Anthias*
Hawaiian Flame Wrasse Male
Mccoskers Flasher Wrasse male
DeclivisButterfly Fish
Kole Tang
Green or spotted mandarin**

Inverts
CUC
Cleaner shrimp

* Undecided on anthias type possibly lyretail, ignitus, squareback, bicolor, bartletts, or dispair.
** after established.

:fish2:

What's your aversion to a Mystery Wrasse? Thoughts on Lineatus Wrasse or foregoing a Wrasse altogether and adding two extra female Anthias?

A mystery wrasse limits your options with regards to fairy and flasher wrasses as well as ornamental shrimp. Lineatus wrasse is excellent.

Could I add 3 blue-green chromis to this list? When in the order should I add them to the tank?

2 oscellaris clowns

2 banggai cardinals (M/F pair)
1 flame angel

1 yellow foxface

3 lyretail anthias

1 kole tang

1 green mandarin

Three will likely become two or one

Well unfortunately chromis will dwindle down to one or two, and they don't really "school". Your tank is not large enough for a shoal of anthias which are the best for shoaling in home aquaria

thanks one other question, if my tank were to be stable in the 78-80 degree range would I need a chiller for the flame wrasse and butterfly fish or would they be fine adapting to a little warmer water?

thanks

78 F is certainly fine, but I do not know how you would maintain that in the summer with lights (LED?)
