Clam and Wrasses

Clam and Wrasses

Are clams and wrasses compatible? I have a fairy wrasse and a Christmas wrasse. I want to introduce a clam but have read different comments on whether this is a good idea or not.

Fairy wrasses are reef safe; Christmas wrasses are clam safe but generally not invert safe

Sorry, this is not a discussion thread. For recommended tank sizes for tangs, please see this. Chromis will winnow down their number over time until there are just one. Firefish, unless a bonded pair, will not tolerate a conspecific in their territory once established.

Hello... I have a 75 gallon with a 20 sump... open aquascape..

Stock is:
Melanarus wrasse
Yellow wrasse
midas blenny
Pink spot goby
Swissguard bass let
3 red line cardinals

I would like to eventually add a tomini (flame tip) tang and a fairy wrasse (lineatus maybe)... would adding those two be too much? Thanks...

Nice aquascaping! Should be no problem to add those two fish.

I currently have the following:

2 juvenile ocellaris clowns
2 juvenile banggai cardinals
1 royal gramma
1 white sleeper goby

All fish are doing well, and everyone gets along. I would eventually like to add a couple more fish. The ones that I’m considering are:

1 blenny: either bicolor, flametail or midas
1 dartfish: either scissortail, firefish of helfrichi firefish goby
Maybe 1 purple pseudochromis

Hi, i'm setting up a 100g with a 25g sump. Could I house long term:
A bubble tip anenome
2 oscellaris
Yellow tang
Scarlet cleaner shrimp
Royal gramma
Humbug damsel fish
Kole yellow eye tang
A range of snsils as cuc
Any advice or pointers would be greatly apreciated :)
Thanks in advance.

1 dartfish: either scissortail, firefish of helfrichi firefish goby any are fine, I personally like helfrichi
Maybe 1 purple pseudochromis aggressive, not compatible with some fish on your list

Yellow tang two tangs including this one would be less than desirable, the kole tang as the only tang woulkd be fine
Scarlet cleaner shrimp
Royal gramma
Humbug damsel fish damsels tend to be aggressive; not a desirable ank mate
Kole yellow eye tang
A range of snsils as cuc
Any advice or pointers would be greatly apreciated :)

ok, i know this is not a discussion board , but i dont understand what you mean the chromis becoming 1 overtime. can you explain this?

One will become dominant and kill the remainder. Most threads are discussion threads but this one is not.

Would I be okay if I nixed the Blonde Naso and added a Tenneti Tang or a Dussemeri Tang?
800 gallon 12' tank

Other tangs
Orangeshoulder
Chevron
Vlamingi
Purple or Desjardini? Could I get away with both?

both are aggressive but in a 12 foot tank, assuming both were introduced young and concurrently, it should work

125g tank

125g tank

I've spent lots of time on lots of forums and your generosity and patience are amazing. I have a 125 gallon 6' tank with approx 90 lbs of pukani in it. Planning and SPS reef. Below is my proposed stocking list. They are listed in order of addition to the tank and I am planning on only having one of each. I would rather sacrifice seeing mating behavior to increase the odds of a peaceful tank. Thank you in advance for your time.

Purple firefish (Nemateleotris decora)
Yellow Head Jawfish (Opistognathus aurifrons)
Yellow watchman Goby (Cryptocentrus cinctus)
Red Banded Snapping Shrimp (Alpheus randalli)
Bangai Cardinal (Pterapogon kauderni))
Blue Flasher Wrasse(Paracheilinus cyaneus
McCosker's Flasher Wrasse (Paracheilinus mccoskeri)
Exquisite Fairy Wrasse (Cirrhilabrus exquisitus)
Scarlet Skunk Cleaner Shrimp (Lysmata amboinensis) X 2
Royal Gramma Basslet (Gramma loreto)
Carberryi Anthias (Nemanthias carberryi)
Blue/Green Reef Chromis (Chromis viridis)
Ocellaris Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris)
Flame Angelfish (Centropyge loricula)
One Spot Foxface (Siganus unimaculatus)
Green Mandarin (Synchiropus splendidus)

150g 48"x24"x30" with a 55 gallon sump/fuge

Planning on keeping a bunch of soft corals- leathers, colt, kenya tree, GSP, Xenias etc.

Intended stocking list:

2 - ocellaris or maroon clowns
1 - sargassum trigger (or bluejaw?)
1 - toby puffer of some type (haven't decided yet)
1 - bellus angel
1 - sixline or flasher wrasse

+ cleaning crew (hermits, turbos, fighting conch etc)

(potentially a foxface or a lawnmower blenny if algae gets ugly, hoping not)

Will the trigger and the toby be too nasty to my cleaning crew? I really dig triggers and puffers, and I completely understand the need for hard food.
