75G with a 20-long sump - not yet set up. I want to house LPS corals.

You previously approved this list:

Tangaroa goby
Wheeler's shrimp goby
Ocellaris clownfish x 2
White-banded possum wrasse
Orange-back fairy wrasse

Two questions:
1) Could I also add a Tomini Tang? Or add that instead of the Orange-back fairy wrasse?
2) Would you recommend a particular order to add them (after appropriate QT)?

Thanks for your time!

A Tomini Tang would work fine, but it should be added down the line with the tank about 6-9 months old. Tangs are inefficient eaters and need a good source of algae which should be abundant once the tank is mature.

Great! I plan to add fish one or two at a time (if I get them together, they'll QT and be added together, otherwise singly) every 4-6 weeks...perhaps less frequent... once the cycle is complete. That should get me to about 6 months, assuming no setbacks. Then I'll evaluate adding the Tang.

Thanks again!~

Fish stocking

Fish stocking

Tank has been up and running almost 7 months.

80 gallon Innovative Marine SR-80 with the sump in the back.

Have:

Mated pair of false Perculas
two chalk basslets
two helfrichi firefish
two clown gobies

I was trying to get small peaceful fish, and I may have made a mistake with the chalk basslets. They have almost tripled in size since I got them, and while they are pretty peaceful most of the time, they are super aggressive at feeding time. They also make it tough for me to feed my Sun Polyp, as the Chalk bass go and try to eat the mysis out of the Sun Polyp.

Also, I was thinking about adding one of the sand sifting gobies, like a blue dot gobie. I've heard that some are super messy, and some are less rambunctious with the sand.

Appreciate your thoughts.

Howard

System is 65 gallon tank with 30 gallon fuge and 20 gallon sump running for a year. Curious if it is possible to add 2 to 3 dispar anthias? Tank has 1 maroon clown 1 flame hawk and 1 melanurus wrasse. Thanks

Sand sifting gobies, in my opinion, are messy, especially if you have corals on the sand. Even shrimp gobies can be a hassle as the shrimp keep digging all the time. The basslets are very aggressive feeders and that will not change.

One anthias might work, multiple anthias would do better with a larger tank. Long term, the maroon clown may limit tank mates.

Will two dussumieri tangs do fine in a 560 gallon tank?

It is impossible to analyze viability without the entire stocking plan. In general, two tangs of the same species is difficult even in very large tanks. Acanthurus dussumieri is a difficult tang under the best of circumstances.

Looking for addition order on this....
5' 110g with 30sump

What I have now:
Pair of clowns
Lawnmower blenny
Royal Gramma
splendid dottyback(actually one of the most timid in the tank)
lyretail anthias(1 female)
springeri damsel
green mandarin

over the next few months to year I would like to add:
pair of tailspot blennies
small group of yellow stripe cardinals (~5)
2spot bristletooth tang(small)

Looking for recommendation on the order in which to add these...only others I might add long term would be a small group of red spot glass cardinals or a pair of bangai but those arent on the list for a year or so probably.

That should be ok, the limiting factor is the aggressiveness of the dottyback. Tangs always last.

perfect, I assumed the tang would need to be last, ill probably start with the pair if tailspot since I can get those locally right now. Appreciate the help.

First, I would like to say thank you for this valuable service.

I have two Occ. Clowns, and an orchid dottyback in a 30gal reef. I would like to get a ruby red mandarin. I have a 30gal refuge producing plenty of pods. I am worried about the orchid with the mandarin.

P. fridmani is the least aggressive pseudochromis. However all dragonets are very shy so there may be an issue.

I'm starting up a 10 gallon nano mixed reef. I was planning on either a black ocellaris or cherub angel and a tail spot blenny. I'm haven't decided on the clean up crew yet either. Any other nano fish suggestions are totally welcome!

None of these will work in a ten gallon tank. Sorry.

[welcome]
