Hey snorvich, I am setting up a 75 gallon tank with a 20 gallon sump, the dimensions of the tank are 48x18x20. Was hoping to add the following fish to it in this order

2 ocellaris clowns (1snowflake,1 reg)
1 royal gramma
1 firefish (purple or red)
1 tailspot blenny or bicolor blenny
3 Pajama Cardinal
2 Bangaii Cardinal
1 one spot fox face Only one algae grazer in this sized tank; fox face or kole tang would work but not both
1 yellow or kole tang Only one algae grazer in this sized tank; fox face or kole tang would work but not both

What do you think of my stocking list?

fine except as annotated

Thank you for your response about the blue tang being too large for my tank size. Is there any other blue and yellow fish that you would suggest adding to my tank for my tank size? OR can I add a juvenile blue tang and send him back to the fish store when he gets to big?

Here's my original post...

It's a 75 gallon tank with a 55 gallon sump.

Current inhabitants...
2 blue chromis
1 turbo snail
7 cerith snails

Hoping to add...
2 banggai Cardinalfish
2 clowns (perculas)
1 Mandarin Goby (down the road)
1 Foxface
1 Blue and yellow fish - suggestions please

Corals and anemones as I go. Thank you!

working on a stocking list

working on a stocking list

I'm working on a stocking list for a new 150g tank. (60x24x24)

Current fish - have them currently in a smaller tank

2 x Occ Clowns (pair) -- currently residing in a mag anenome
2 x Flame Angels (pair)
1 x Pink spot goby & pistol shrimp
1 x royal gramma
1 x yellow canary wrasse
1 x redtail flasher wrasse

I'm thinking I would like to add

1x whitetail bristletooth tang
3 x maldives lyretail anthias (trio)
1 x Yellow tang (not 100% sold on it yet)

largest fish I have currently is the goby so not 100% sure if I'm dreaming in regards to too many fish.

Cycle complete in 60g cube with a 75g basement sump/ refugium. 45lbs of Reef saver in DT and 50lbs of Fiji in the sump. Currently housing two black and white ocellaris clowns. 2-3 inch sand bed in a future mixed reef setup of LPS and SPS.
My concern in future livestock would be the following

Midas blenny
Christmas wrasse
Blue dot jawfish

What combinations can I keep and what stocking order?

Thanks

As those who follow this thread know, I do not provide recommendations for a variety of reasons. Perhaps you could look at the Live Aquaria site for a fish that appeals and then check back here for compatibility analysis. I am always happy to evaluate any stocking list provided tank size is also provided.

The plan would work. For a BSJ, you will either need a buried PVC pipe for a home or a deeper sand bed mixed with rock rubble. Also BSJ do best with cooler temperatures since they are collected in the Sea of Cortez.

Current stocking plan (6 ft., 125 gallon FOWLR):

1 pair false percula clowns
1 chalk bass
1 coral beauty
1 watchmen goby
1 green banded goby
1 mimic lemon peel tang
1 foxface lo
1 auriga butterflyfish
1 hypotlectrus guttavarius
1 royal gramma
1 pistol shrimp
6 peppermint shrimp
1 cleaner shrimp
4 turbo snails

Thanks in advance!

Interested in adding a yellow tang or melanurus wrasse the wrasse should be fine; the yellow tang needs a much larger tank
Thanks !

I lost all my fish due to an ich outbreak. Now that my tank is sitting fallow I'm trying to think of the new fish I want in the tank. The only 2 fish I know I'll have is a pair of clowns. My next choice would be something that helps benefit my tank. The bubble algae in my tank is getting out of control, so I was wondering what reef safe fish are out there that eat bubble algae? I have the deep blue 80g 48"L x 24"D x 16"H.

Hi All,

My tank is a 350L corner tank with the largest straight-line swim being just over 4ft.

Getting ready for the next fish purchase in about 2 weeks time, the tank has been up about 2 months now, NH3 and NO2 are at zero with my NO3 now around 5ppm (and going down with each water change) and my current stocking is

2 x Clowns
1 x Camel Shrimp
4 x Turbo Snails
1 x Diamond Goby (added a week ago)

I'm planning to add a Firefish in about 2 weeks time and then give it a couple more weeks and add a yellow tang (I'm *technically* under 100 US Gallons at 92G but I have a corner tank so over 4ft straight-line swimming distance...).

This will complete the tank and I don't plan on adding any other fish to the tank - what does everyone think, will I be overstocked with the tang?

My desktop system has been slightly modified (no longer the custom 36x12x8H) but is now a standard 24x12x12 15 gallon and an extra 10 gallons in the sump. Intended stock list follows:

Ocellaris morph
Helfrich's Firefish
Clown goby

Issues, too much? Of course, stocking will be staggered - clown last. The tank will also be stocked with corals and snails from my DT at home. The ocellaris will probably have to adapt to a long-polyped leather instead of a nem because I'd rather not have my Helfrich's disappear...

There is no fish suitable to your 80 gallon tank that eats bubble algae.

The clownfish is marginal in this sized tank; the other two are fine
