Hopefully in 2 years time the Maroon can hold out, the wife wants a 90 gallon fowlr once my son is a little older and we can put a tank in the living room. She's just concerned about him banging on the tank and breaking it now at 2 1/2 y/o.

Its the other fish that may not hold out.

I'm starting up a 40 g mixed reef with an oversized eshopps skimmer refugium dual chamber brs gfo and carbon reactor lots of lr and Ls here is what im thinking
ywg and pistol shrimp
Sand sifter goby
coral beauty
2 percs
clown goby
lawnmower blenny
If these fish are not going to thrive in your opinion then please leave some suggestions please

Sand sifter goby If you are planning corals, you will not want a sand sifter due to sand storms
coral beauty needs a larger tank
2 percs
clown goby
lawnmower blenny

The number of fish is a bit high for this sized tank. As those who follow this thread know, I do not provide recommendations for a variety of reasons. However, I am always happy to reevaluate any stocking plan provided tank size and maturity is also provided.

Hello!
I am planning on setting up a 40 gallon reef tank with mushroom corals only and was wondering what fish, if any, will be able to thrive in this tank. Thx in advance. :)

Reef safe fish

Reef safe fish

My system is a 125 gal reef tank, Euro Skmmer, Refug with Cheato and reverse lighting, LED lights, twice monthy water changes. I currently have only
live rock, two soft corals, four mushrooms and lots of sponge, with fairly large and growing red bristle star fish, hermits, snails, about 5 mithrax crabs, 4 porcelin crabs, one peppermint shrimp, rock flower anemone and three other anemone-like hitchhikers, all doing well, with an ugly, growing gorilla crab in my sump.

I have not added fish, but would eventually like:

Yellow tang
Six Line Wrasse
Midas Blenny
Assorted damsels--less aggressive variety, open to suggestions
(I know a lot of people say to avoid damsels, but I am partisl to them)
Flame Hawkfish
Tomato or Cinnamen Clownfish
Royal Gamma Basslet

I would love to get a couple of pearly jawfish but I am concerned that these are out of the question because of the bristle star.

Would love suggestions on this mix of fish, and especially need to hear your thoughts on which order to add each fish.

Thanks!

(I know a lot of people say to avoid damsels, but I am partisl to them) In a large enough tank, assuming no mated pairs, that would work
Flame Hawkfish not shrimp safe
Tomato or Cinnamen Clownfish aggressive
Royal Gamma Basslet

Angel Fish - unsure if there are any that will work in a reef tank

Any information is appreciated.
Thanks

mushroom coral

20 gallon QT
x2 maroon clownfish very aggressive; will want to control 50 gallons of tank space

I would like:
blue and yellow tang neither will work as they need a larger tank
exquisite wrasse (concerned that it will jump out) 1/4 inch mess top will prevent that
yellow goby
Royal Gramma Basslet
Angel Fish - unsure if there are any that will work in a reef tank Most large angels require a larger tank, dwarf angels are not coral safe

Any information is appreciated.
Thanks

46g bowfront w/ 10g sump.

Fish:
2 oscellaris clowns
Pink spotted goby
Four Spot Wrasse
Sixline Wrasse (a lot smaller than the 4spot and added after)
Mandarin
Dwarf Flame Angel

Everything seems to be getting along great.

Inverts:
Various hermits
Various snails
Fighting conch
Cleaner shrimp
Pistol shrimp (paired with pink spot goby)

How many more fish could I realistically add? And would you recommend I remove any?

Ok, so I was thinking of Stocking my new 40 gallon reef tank, there are no corals in it at the moment, I plan to get a pair of Ocelerios Clownfish and a Midas blenny. Will all of these fish Get along with eachother? Do they need a bigger tank? Thx in advance.

Pink spotted goby
Four Spot Wrasse not compatible with a mandarin, very aggressive
Sixline Wrasse (a lot smaller than the 4spot and added after) not compatible with a mandarin, aggressive
Mandarin will starve long term in this tank
Dwarf Flame Angel needs a larger, mature tank

Everything seems to be getting along great.

I annotated some fish which will not survive long term in this sized tank

Thank you! If I remove these fish (mandarin and dwarf flame angel) how many more could I potentially add? My stock would look like this: sixline, 4spot wrasse, pink spot goby, and 2 osc clowns.
