I have a 46 gal bowfront with bad aptasia with a yellow tail damsel, ocelleraris clown pair, small foxface and small yellow eye kole tang (yes, I know, in the process of upgrading to a large tank). I want to add two file fish to help get rid of my aptasia. Do you think there would be any issues there?

You already have issues with a foxface and tang. File fish may or may not eat aiptasia.

Just upgraded from my 29 Gallon tank (had it for about 3 months) into a 55 gallon about 2 weeks ago!

Set-up:
-Standard 55 gallon tank
-Protein skimmer
-About 70 lbs of live rock (was BRS dry rock, but is fully seeded)
-Sand bed about 3" average coverage
-* soon to be installed 10 Gallon sump/refugium

Current stock
- 2 small ocellaris clowns
- 1 Banggai Cardinal
- 1 Hi fin Goby
- 1 Lawnmower Blenny
- 1 RBT (can't for the life of me get the clowns to host)

Want list (and I'd love suggestions for stuff not on here too)
- 1 Adorned Wrasse
- 1 Hoeven's wrasse (I'd love a pair if I can swing it)
- 1 Snowflake eel
- 1 splendid or springeri Dottyback
- Coral beauty or Flame angel fish (though these sound like they might be too big)
- finally, I'd love a tang of some sort. Are there any tangs or similar fish that could be housed in a 55 gallon? if not, any ideas for a schooling fish (like 5 or 6 little ones) I might be able to get?

Thanks!

Sorry, but I do not provide analysis of aggressive fish community tanks (eel). However, your tank, at 55 gallons, is not a large tank; no tangs will work.

Steve, whats your 2 cents on anthias?! i really like a few species, but have read a fair few threads saying they are very hard to keep are they correct?!? Btw i know this may be a ''piecemeal question'' even though i dont know what that means, but i am just wondering?!

TIA

I picked up a 2 spot goby. I have a 120 g DT with 40g sump. I was ready care requirements on live aquaria and they recommended a populated sump. What would I raise in the sump? Copia pods?

Some species of anthias are considered difficult because they require multiple feedings per day. Some species of anthias are considered very difficult and expert only because they are difficult feeders and require nearly constant feeding. A ''piecemeal question'' question is one not in the format of this thread: stocking plan, tank size, tank maturity.

Two spot gobies are very difficult. They require a large sand area, ideally partially sheltered, lots of copepods, and no copepod competitors.

Ok. Excluding the eel, and in your experienced opinion how does the rest of the list sound? compatable/too many fish/not reef safe... ?

- 1 RBT (can't for the life of me get the clowns to host) The correct terminology is actually the anemone hosts and the clowns associate. Clowns will do what they want assuming you have the correct anemone type.

Bubble Tip Anemone (Rose Anemone)
Entacmaea quadricolor will host:

Amphiprion akindynos - Barrier Reef Clownfish
A. clarkii - Clark's Clownfish
A. frenatus - Tomato Clownfish
A. melanopus - Red and Black Clownfish
A. ocellaris - Ocellaris Clownfish
A. percula - Percula Clownfish in Bubble Tip Anemone
Premnas Biaculeatus - Maroon Clownfish

Want list (and I'd love suggestions for stuff not on here too)
- 1 Adorned Wrasse
- 1 Hoeven's wrasse (I'd love a pair if I can swing it)
- 1 Snowflake eel will eat fish and some crustaceans
- 1 splendid or springeri Dottyback aggressive not recommended especially in a smallish tank
- Coral beauty or Flame angel fish (though these sound like they might be too big) not reef safe to corals
- finally, I'd love a tang of some sort. Are there any tangs or similar fish that could be housed in a 55 gallon?

No tangs in this sized tank

if not, any ideas for a schooling fish (like 5 or 6 little ones) I might be able to get? If you add all you plan to add, a group of fish would need a larger tank

Trying to plan out my 40b with 20L sump I'm putting together. Here's the idea so far.

2 occelaris clowns
1 royal gramma
1 (or a pair) smaller flasher wrasse (or is tank too small?)
Something to move sand like a goby/pistol shrimp pair

Mixed LPS/softies/zoas
Eventually a small(ish) nem

My biggest question is if 1 male and 1 female wrasse would work in this size of a tank. Open to any other livestock suggestions/alternatives.

Steve i think u missed this one

6 Lyretail Anthias
Kole Tang
Yellow Tang
2 Pair Ocellaris Clowns
Yellow-head jawfish
Orange-back Fairy Wrasse (Male)
McCoskers Flasher Wrasse (Male)
Carpents Flasher Wrasse (Male)
2 Pair Neon Goby
Midas Blenny
Royal Gramma
Yasha goby / Pistol Shrimp
2 Cleaner Shrimp
Red serpent star
Tile sea star

Wanting to know what order I should add these into the tank, and which fish to add at the same time thanks :)

Apparently I missed this one. So sorry.

For analysis, I would need tank size and maturity. Order is always: most aggressive last, most peaceful first.
