Hi guys,

I have a 45 gal reef tank, filter, live sand and 50'lbs live rock. NO2, ammonia, 0 for 4 months. PO4 below .25. Calcium 420 -460, SpG 1.024 -1.026. Had ich attack so 2 percula clowns and the watchman goby are in hospital tank, treated with Cupramine. Will finish the 8 week fallow DT in two weeks. Will then move clowns and goby back in DT with skunk cleaner shrimp, 2 peppermint shrimp, pistol shrimp, mushrooms, zoas, snails and hermits.

Here's my plan. Order
BTA A. ocellaris may or may not choose to associate with a BTA
Royal gramma
Small Hippo tang (will keep until too large, then trade for othe fish) we do not recommend buying fish unless your tank is suitable for them long term and P. hepatus needs a much larger tank (and fish size is not the issue)
Either dwarf flame angel or coral beauty Either one needs a larger tank
Fire fish

BTAGoes into DT
Fish go into QT for two weeks, measure DT parameters, then into DT when ready. A two week quarantine is not adequate. Please see stickies in the Fish Disease Forum as that is beyond the scope of this thread.

Whatcha think?

Hi Steve, 95 gallon shallow(60 x 30 x12) with a 40 breeder sump and about 100 pounds of live rock. A shallow FOWLR.

Currently have:
2 Percula Clowns
Firefish
Yellow Clown Goby
Blue Reef Chromis
Yellow Watchman Goby
Bicolor Angel

Would like to add a Orange Spot Blenny. Any Issues?

Thanks a ton! Gary.

OK trying again - thanks for the feedback!

I have a 3 foot 48 gallon bow front reef tank / 50 lbs liverock / 4 inches live sand / Maxspect Razor LEDs / Octupus HOB skimmer / 2 power heads / 15 years old

Here is my intended fish list:
Pygmy Angel
BTA
2 Tomato Clowns (I am trying to find a clown to pair w/ my BTA and not kill my other inhabitants)
Fairy Wrasse
Goby
Valentini puffer

My dilemma is this... I had an oscellaris clown originally for 2 months and she would not host the BTA? After doing some additional research I learned that Oscellaris clowns might host / or might not host a BTA. Maroons host BTA in the wild but you shared last time that they would kill my other tank inhabitants. I *think* tomato clowns are less aggressive then maroon clowns? Would the tomato clown work?

Looking for input.

I have a 100G, 48 long, 24 deep, 36 high, 1 year and 3 month old tank. Current fish:

Blotched Anthias
2 clownfish
Yellow Tang
1 fire fish
1 cardinal
1 wrasse

All happy, eating, etc.

I wanted to add 1 more fish. What, if any, would you recommend?

Personal preference, red mandarin (pods, pods, and more pods)

90 gallon w/20l fuge chaeto (skimmer BM curve 5)
sali 1.024
nitrite/ammonia 0
nitrate 10
temp 78-79
3-4" sand bed (80lb sand)
100LB LR
will be reef

currently have
3 chromis will become one over time; may be an issue with anthias
hermit crabs
1cleaner shrimp

future fish list
2 clown ocellaris
1 fair wrasse (red head solon)
3 Anthias (ignitus)
1 diamond goby
1 dottyback (bicolor) not compatible with fairy wrasse or firefish
2 fire fish one will survive long term
1 yellow or kole tang kole tang is preferred in this sized tank
Would this be too many fish? Also would there be any specific order to add them in?

Always most aggressive last, most peaceful first

Thank you!

Pygmy Angel wait six months minimum
BTA
2 Tomato Clowns (I am trying to find a clown to pair w/ my BTA and not kill my other inhabitants) less aggressive than GSM clowns but aggressive; add them last for best chance
Fairy Wrasse
Goby
Valentini puffer

1 wrasse what species? Depends on mandarin suitability as a mandarin would work without copepod competition.

All happy, eating, etc.

Cirrhilabrus roseafascia is one of the most aggressive fairy wrasses, however while it would not preclude a mandarin it would probably make any additional fairy wrasses difficult.

Based on my current population, what additonal fish, if any, would you suggest? Just trying to make the best decision.

As those who follow this thread know, I do not provide recommendations for a variety of reasons. I am always happy to review any stocking plan as long as tank size is also provided. Keep in mind I cannot go backwards in this thread so a complete stocking plan should be provided.

75 gallon 4' aquarium with 30 gallon sump/refugium mainly for pods.

2 ocellaris clownfish
3 leopard wrasses (Macropharyngodon meleagris)
1 flame angel
1 potters angel
1 kole tang

I have a feeling that 3 leopard wrasses may be too many for a 75g, but I was thinking about adding pods monthly or so to try to keep the population going. I have read a few places that a group of three may be beneficial if for no other reason than to distribute aggression if one hopefully transitions to male, but would like to eventually have at least a pair of them.

I was also thinking if a Tomini tang would be better than a kole because they appear to be a bit smaller full grown. Ultimately, I want to successfully keep the leopards so it may be better to not introduce a tang at all.

I assume the 3 leopards are females; I do not think two males will coexist in this sized tank. Three is pushing it, I think, in any case. I would certainly build pod piles (little piles of live rock rubble) and keep chaeto in your refugium. Also, they will eat NLS pellets supplied (autofeeder) and frozen so supplementation may work. Three algae grazers will not work in this sized tank. Either kole or tomini tang would work, but I would reduce to only one dwarf angel.

Hi Steve,
I have a 75 gal, with a 25 sump. My current wish list is as goes
Kole tang
Bluejaw trigger not invert safe
Lunare/leopard wrasse A lunare wrasse is very aggressive and not recommended; a leopard wrasse will preclude a mandarin
Lawnmower blenny
Mandarin after a year not with either wrasse
Flame/coral beauty angel not coral safe
Any problems??
