I have a 90 gallon display with a 30 gallon refugium, deep sand bed, 110 pounds of live rock, and a SRO 2000. I don't have coral yet, but I'm planning a mixed reef.

Currently in my tank I have:
1 old mellowed out blue fin damsel (at least 5 years old
1 old percula clown fish (at least 7 years old)
1 blue and yellow damsel
1 royal gamma
a peppermint shrimp and sexy shrimp
assortment of hermit cramps, snails, and emerald craps

I like to add
a coral beauty or flame angel
1 or 2 of Kole Tang, Yellow Tang, Hippo Tang
Potentially a Pyramid Butterfly or Schooling Bannerfish

A pyramid butterfly is about as reef safe as butterfly fish get

Hi i am starting my own 40gal, i filled up the tank with rodi water and put the rite amount of salt in it. To cycle the tank i placed two raw shrimp in it. It has been 4-5days and my ammonia read 5.0/6.0 and i see no diatoms??? why is this?

I've just transferred my reef tank from a 28 g bowfront to a 40 g breeder. I'm contemplating a couple of purchases and would love some advice. In my new tank I have a green chromie, two clowns, and a bicolored dottyback ( all are playing nice). I also have an assortment of hermits, crabs, snails and shrimp. Of corals I have a frogspawn, torch, zoas, Duncan, acan, blastomusa, pagoda cup, Australian alveopora, hairy mushroom, warty mushroom, star polyp, prism brain (allegedly, not sure that is correct) and ricordias. I have no sump. Filtration is LR, aragonite substrate, in-tank hydor protein skimmer, and a hob filter with activated carbon. I have a new 45 LED light arriving in two days and will keep that and a dual T5 HO on the tank. Water changes are done weekly - 10-15%. Ammonia and nitrite are both 0. Nitrate is 5 (the bane of my existence!). Salinity is at 1.025 (measured with a refractometer) and pH is at 8.2.

What I would like to add of fish: flasher wrasse and a midas blenny. Would this be okay? Is my tank large enough? I'm also eyeballing a rose bulb anemone. Is that an okay idea or a no-no?

All help and suggestions are greatly appreciated

What wattage/type of bulbs do you have?
Does the fixture have individual reflectors?
Where do you have most of your corals? E. Quaricolors (( BTA )) are rock dwelling anemones, and have a habit of stinging all that they touch.

Any type of cover over the tank? (( 1/4" screen works great )) -- don't want that wrasse jumping out. If you don't cover it, the wrasse will end up on the floor.

Don't think there should be an issue with the blenny.

I have a 36 gal tank with a pair of clowns and a helfrichi fire fish. Today, after being in quarantine, I added a gold assessor basslet. The firefish is behaving very territorial towards the gold assessor - is this behavior likely to go away as the firefish gets used to the gold assessor?

I would like to add a Harlequin Tusk in my 125 with my Colombian sharks, Moonies, banded sleeper goby and Antennata lionfish. It's filtered with a Proflex 4 and had macro in dt and one peice of coral.

green clown goby(Gobiodon atrangulatus)
red mandarin(Pterosynchiropus splendidus var.)
kole tang(Ctenochaetus strigosus)
some type of anthias(if possible)
flasher wrasse: mccoskeri, carpenteri or filamentosus
midas or bicolor blenny(Ecsenius midas or bicolor)

Really looking for a lot of diversity in this tank, and there will be shrimp and other inverts. So if you have any other suggestions that fit the bill, I would love to know.

Firefish are wusses. It will likely mitigate over time.

I do not normally provide guidance on aggressive tanks. Try the aggressive fish forum for best results. Thanks.

No obvious issues, adding a dwarf angel to an existing, established dwarf angel can sometimes be challenging.
