I have a 55g with a black clown, bangaii, and pj cardinal.

I'm looking to add a diamond watchmen goby and some type of wrasse/anthias to add a bit of color to the tank. Also would like a longnose hawkfish if possible.

I'm not sure which wrasse or anthias would work with my tank, any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

A long nose hawkfish would work but is not shrimp or small fislh safe

those who follow this thread know I do not provide recommendations. However I am always happy to analyze stocking plans provided tank size and maturity are also provided.

Carpenters Wrasse fine but they require a covered tank

Flame angel in a 30 Gal long? Should be okay with a couple of clowns and a blue spotted jawfish?

No. A flame angel needs a larger tank that is mature; depends on species of clownfish whether they will work in a 30 gallon tank; a blue spotted jawfish needs a cooler tank with peaceful inhabitants (clowns when mature are not) and a special substrate.

Hi,

I'm planning ahead for my 29 gallon Biocube that I started two days ago. After my cycle finish I will add a standard CUC, then when they are established Im thinking on this:

2 Clowns, small sized ones.
2 Cleaner shrimp.
1 goby or blenny.
1 peppermint shrimp.

Is this ok? Can I add one small damsel?

By small i mean species that stay small when grow up.

Thanks

1 goby or blenny. fine; if a blenny wait until tank is more mature
1 peppermint shrimp.

Is this ok? Can I add one small damsel? I would not due to aggression

By small i mean species that stay small when grow up. While fish size is relevant, fish behavior is more important

Thanks

Setting up a 24 gallon nano cube. So far I've decided on:

1 Clown(not sure which yet)
1 Royal Gramma
1 Skunk Shrimp

Would like to get 1 more fish in there is possible. Any suggestions? Goal with tank is mainly a soft/zoa tank with a few lps. Thanks

My current setup is 60 gallon cube and 24 gallon sump. I have a Bangai Cardinal, Chalk Bass, and Mandarin. I am looking to get a few new fish. Here are the fish i want to get
5x blue/green reef chromis
Chalk bass
Bangai Cardinal
Blenny or goby but i want to make sure it does not compete for food with my mandarin
firefish
Fairy Wrasse

Maybe a few more after this but currently what i want.

Depends on which species of clown, but adding another fish is probably not a good idea.

5x blue/green reef chromis will become one over time
Chalk bass generally, chalk bass should be added concurrently
Bangai Cardinal must be the opposite sex of existing
Blenny or goby but i want to make sure it does not compete for food with my mandarin
firefish
Fairy Wrasse depends which fairy wrasse

Maybe a few more after this but currently what i want.

Thoughts on When to Add Fish After Ich? And What Types of Fish?

Thoughts on When to Add Fish After Ich? And What Types of Fish?

Hi everyone,

Tank Details: 30g FOWLR cube tank with an overflow false back (no sump), aquamaxx HOB-1 75g skimmer, AI Nano light, reel reef live rock, lots of filtration (chemipure elite, phosguard, some purigen, matrix), RODI water with HW Marinemix, and a cleaner crew of 5 hermit crabs and 3 turbo snails.

I had an ich outbreak that finished off my last fish on July 16. Since then, I have been running the tank with only the cleanup crew, and added a cleaner shrimp for company (which has been alot of fun). I am thinking about adding fish again, and was hoping some of you could help with the following:

1) How much longer should I wait before adding fish since the ich? I heard 2 months?

2) Whenever I do add fish, I am thinking of the following, and would love to hear your thoughts:

- 2 clown fish
- 1 royal gramma
- 1 mccoskers flasher wrasse

Note that I have a cube tank, which doesnt have a long profile, so while I have good amount of live rock, I would be curious to see if you think that I would have enough hiding places for the gramma and wrasse, also recognizing that the shrimp will be cruising around at times (I'm pretty sure the clowns won't be fighting for small cave spots).

Of course, I really love the Flame Angel and Coral Beauty and would be happy to replace any of the fish listed above for one of them, but am pretty sure that even a small one wouldn't work well in my size tank (although, if it gets big then I can upgrade to a larger tank :) )

3) Lastly, do you think it's best to get all of the fish at once? In the past, I've introduced one at a time, and unfortunately, the last fish seems to be the nervous type, get sick, and pass ich on to the remaining fish... I've heard that adding Seachem Prime may help with the fish keeping their slime coat when being introduced? I already have some on order.

Thanks for your help!

This thread is only about marine fish compatibility. The stocking plan that you submitted would work fine in the tank specs that you have except a flasher wrasse needs a covered tank that is a bit larger. The subject of quarantine and preventing reinfecting new fish is outside the scope of this thread. I suggest reading the ich stickies.

100 gallon community tank

100 gallon community tank

Hi everybody,

I have a 3 month old cycled 100 gallon tank with a total water volume of 130 gallon with 70 lbs of rock

Tank parameters: Salinity 34.5 ppt, pH 8.1, Ammonia, nitrite and nitrate - 0 (not traceable)

Life in the tank in the order, in which it was added to the tank.

Live rock - ~15 lbs
Very small anemone which came with the rock (pale colored BTA)
Hermit crabs - 2 nos.
Dartfish - 1no. ptereleotris genus
Yellow wrasse - 1no. (Halichoeres leucoxanthus)
1" juvenile clarkii clown - 1no. (Amphiprion clarkii)
2" smoke angel - 1no.(Apolemichtys Xanthurus)
Lyre tail anthia - 1no. (pseudanthias squamipinnis)
Yellow tail blue damsel - 1 no.

The damsel was added to give some bright color to the tank, it is not harassing any other inhabitants as of now can be returned if necessary. I wanted to know if I can add some more fish, without adding too much load on the system.

Thanks

Naveen

From a behavioral perspective, the fish most likely to be aggressive in your tank is the clownfish, at least once it matures. Bio-load is fine, or at least it will be after more maturation, and there is capacity for additions as long as they are behaviorally compatible.

thanks steve

So I get to keep the damsel, If I can add something in the future what kind of fish I should be looking at. My Display's exact dimensions are 3.5' X 2' X 2'

Marine aquariums are bit rare in India and we dont get all types of fishes here. I want to add relatively disease resistant or hardy fishes
