Hi,

Here's my plan for my 28g JBJ Nano Cube (in reality, probably closer to 20g water volume):

Tank has a lot of live rock (possibly too much at about 40 lbs). Plan to add corals, mostly zoas and favia, maybe a frogspawn or hammer.

2 ocellaris clown - these will be my first fish in the tank after cycling is complete and clean up crew are established, my understanding is that I should add them as a pair?

1 kaudern's cardinalfish

1 six line wrasse - i'm open to suggestion here, not married to the idea of the six line... maybe a green clown goby? any other ideas?

Consider a possum wrasse (one of the Wetmorella family). While I do not like making recommendations, a six line wrasse is not a good idea.

Thanks in advance!

sorry im posting again im taking your advice and changed my list a little.
this is for my 110-115 gallon, with 55 sump- total water volume is 150 gallons
currently no livestock in tank, will add cuc soon (these fish will be in QT for 4-6 weeks)
1x Flame Angelfish
1x Black Nox Angelfish
1x Coral Beauty Angelfish
1x Blue Reef Chromi
1x lawnmower blenny
1x diamond watchman goby
1x Bartlett's Anthias
this is what I want for now...
going to add some more after couple months
PS> will a 40 gallon tank w/ established filter be big enough to QT these fish for 4-6 weeks?

Stocking my FOWLR. My initial list has completely changed. Mostly due to obtaining certain species and issues with some and CUC's.

So, this is going to be a mixed Angel tank with some others. Stocking "plan" right now, please give input!

1) Blueface Angel (in QT)
2) Majestic/Navarchus Angel (coming this weekend)
3) Cream Angel
4) Koran Angel (possibly) - or - Annularis (if I can find one)
5) Flame Angel (in QT)
6) Red Stripe Angel

Angels will be QT'd and all released into DT at same time. I am attempting to get all the angels larger than the Blueface to keep him the smallest for now. He'll be the 'alpha' Angel, so with smaller size than the rest, I'm hoping to keep the peace.

Remaining list, shortly after or at the same time as the angels.

1) Achilles Tang
2) Pakistan Butterfly
3) Wrasses (couple in question)
4) Pair of clowns
- possibles:
5) Moorish Idol (want badly, any feedback welcome!)
6) Majestic Foxface

My concern, of course is the angelfish. My guidance would say to split the group into two for QT. Get a second 40 gallon, or preferably acquire them in two groups.

I am concerned with 4 largish angels in a 225 gallon tank. I can see two working with a lot of care and preplanning

6) Majestic Foxface

You have a lot of algae grazers and largish fish which may make your tank look small

Recommendations?

Recommendations?

I have a 125g 72x24x18 tank that plant make a reef tank w/fish. What would be a good mix that would get me the most fish? Are there fish that like to be in schools that would work in a 125g tank? My family watched/watches Tanked and those guys add a lot of fish to their projects. The one that sticks out is the phone booth tank. That was a lot of fish in one tank.

We feel that Tanked did a disservice to the hobby and we certainly would not want to recommend stocking in that fashion. So sorry.

I had a sneaking suspicion. Since I am new to this I wanted to make sure. Any recommendations would help. If I followed my daughter's requests I would have sunflower sea stars, puffer fish, seahorses, sharks, an orca, and stingrays...

Well, the way this thread works is to provide commentary on the compatibility of your stocking list with each other and with the environment you are providing. May take more than one iteration. I strive to provide fish stocking advice that will live comfortably and thrive in the environment you have.

I am still taking in all the different species available so I am still undecided on how I want to stock my tank. I do know I want a reef tank and beyond that I am open to suggestions.

How does this sound for a 75gallon with some zooas and softies?

1x Kole Tang
1x Dwarf Zebra Lionfish
1x WSM Clownfish
3x Zebra Dartfish
1x Foxface Lo

Well, decide on equipment, decide what type of corals, then figure out a fish stocking list. When you provide that information, we can provide commentary on compatibility. But it is not feasible for me to provide suggestions since our tastes and budget are not the same.

Lionfish eat other fish. So sorry but we do not provide commentary on aggressive fish tanks.

Currently have a 45 gallon - FOWLR

In my tank now I have two occ clowns, coral banded shrimp and a blue chromis.

The four fish I want are:
Valentini Puffer
Flame Angel
Royal Gramma
Dracula Goby

Don't want to overstock by any means. So what would be my best choice out of those 4 fish I listed considering my current fish in the tank and size of tank? Would like at least 2 of the 4 listed if possible as well.

Valentini Puffer Least desirable since it can be aggressive towards other fish

The bottom three should work fine (as long as you have sand for the goby

I have a 80 gallon tank. It is 5ft long, and 1 ft wide. I currently have a fire goby, pair of cleaner shrimp, 3 turbo snails, and 1 fighting conch
the fish on my list are
pair of clownfish
1 blenny or non sand-sifting goby
1 blue green chromis
1 anthias
1 coral beauty angelfish
1 royal gramma

Is this good? I do not want the fish to get overcrowded. Thanks

should be no problem.

Clownfish do not like other clownfish. Your existing pair are just reaching the point where bonding will normally occur (you will see the "male to be" shimmy in submission to the "female to be"). For sure, once this occurs, they will be intolerant of other clowns. While your tank is fairly good size, it probably is not large enough for two pairs. I have a friend with a 500 gallon tank that had to remove one of each of two pairs he had to avoid world war three.

My clowns have only been in the tank a little over a month and are less than 2", but the last few days the smaller one has been 'shimmying'. I was afraid it was flashing due to parasites. Is it possible they've bonded this early?
