We hadn't intended to upgrade so he was never a problem. Ok so now that he will be gone, it looks like fairy wrasses may be the answer. I like the Bluehead. How many would you recommend to have a nice little school? I have 92G with pair of clowns, watchman goby and a Caudin's cardinal. They are relatively inexpensive and really pretty. I also plan to add one more fish, I need a colorful grazer. What would you recommend?

Fairy and flasher wrasses do not school. I think flasher wrasses would do better than fairy wrasses from an activity perspective. In a 92 gallon tank, you could chose a dwarf angel or perhaps a Kole Tang as a grazer. I do not give recommendations since our tastes are going to be different.
 
This is my first aquarium ever.
I got a 45 gallons (180 liter) Juvel Rio saltwater with skimmer from juwel.
It has 18 kg of Live Rock.
Light: 45 x 2 T5

Im planning to have a couple of Ocellaris Clownfish (Amphiprion ocellaris) and a Lawnmower Blenny (Salarias fasciatus).
At this moment im in deep doubt that the Blenny can survive in tank if he isnt eating anything else that algea.
Got a advice with Nori and I will test that.
What number of fish will still be easy to maintain, because like I said before its my first.

I would like some colorfull corals wich is easy to maintain too.
How about some feather dusters?
How many crabs and snails?
I really like the Neopetrolisthes ohshimai crab.

You will need to keep nori in a clip all of the time until your tank is very mature and producing sufficient algae. You want to think small fish as you have a small tank. I cannot really give you a number of fish, although your clownfish will eventually limit that somewhat as they sexually mature.

This thread is dedicated to fish compatibility. In general, I don't trust crabs not the least because they kill snails for their shells. The anemone crab is harmless but really requires an anemone which may also limit what fish you can keep. Sorry I cannot help more with the non-fish questions.

Hello! First off, I want to thank you for taking the time to review my list. Below is what i have planned so far. I am still researching fish that would fit the tank. Looking for movement and color in the fish selection.

Edit: I have a pair of black clowns I was thinking of moving to this tank. But I know I can fit only so many fish. But please include that in your thoughts.

Tank: 40G Cube + 15G Sump
Skimmer: Bubble Magus NAC3.5
Lighting: Dual Kessil A150s
CUC will be all various snails and maybe a fire shrimp.

The tank is finished its cycle and will be a mixed LPS/SPS reef.

Really cool aquascaping. Seven fish may be pushing it and adding a pair of clowns, especially if sexually mature, and even more especially if they are already mating will be too much. Also, some fish, especially an anthias, really require a larger tank. The helfrichi firefish should be added first and allowed to settle in. The flasher wrasse may have an issue with the firefish, but maybe if it were the last fish added, might work.
 
I really like your suggestion of the Kole Tang as a grazer for my upgraded 92G corner tank. Very cool looking fish. However upon reading Live Aquaria reviews, two people had aggression issues even tho' it says it's a peaceful fish. One guy had his watchman goby go into hiding (I have a one inch watchman that I love) and the other had the tang go after his other fish even tho' it was added last. So I am wondering if there is a similar tang for my tank that has no bad press and will be content with my other fish presuming that the 6 line wrasse and algae blennie are gone. Any cool looking grazer that is active will do.

Simple solution: add all other fish first. Grazers, especially, once established will protect their perceived ecological niche. If they are added last, they are the newcomer.
 
Yes but one of the guys in the review did add his fish last. That's what worried me. I can of course do that. He could be in quarantine while the "new" tank is being established. But I fear for my Goby as the guy that added his tang last had his goby go into hiding.

What was his tank size? There are a huge number of variables when evaluating fish compatibility. That family of tangs is by far the least aggressive. Chevron tangs, also a member of that family, are also excellent. But grazers are often sensitive to other grazers because of the relative limitations of their ecological niche.
 
Good point and that I don't know. Ok I will see if our LFS has Koles. Chevrons are way out of our price range! :-(

light- t5's w/ actinic lamps
tank has been running for a year now

current inhabitants
10" snowflake eel
2 blue damsels
3 turbo snails
3 bluefooted hermits
1 emerald crab
pink tipped anemone
1 clown fish about 1"


looking to get a green mandarin. What are your thoughts
also rather than a sump i was looking into mangroves. My wife wants plants
and i read somewhere that some prefer mangrove over skimmer

You will be unable to sustain a mandarin in that sized tank.
