This thread is about fish compatibility with each other and with the environment you are providing. As such we do not make recommendations but would be happy to supply commentary on a fish stocking list along with the environment you are creating. A tank with fish and other animals endemic to a specific area, such as the Caribbean, PNG, etc might be of interest.

Unfortunately your tank is not large enough for any tangs. A hepatus tang really needs a tank that is much larger and the RC recommendation is 240 gallons. The other fish are fine.

3 yellowtail damsels aggressive, not a good idea
Yellow tang should be added last
Foxface lo or one spot
Neon gobie( maybe two if I can find a mated pair)
2 ocellaris clowns
Flame hawkfish precludes having shrimp
Saddle Valentini puffer It may be aggressive at times, nipping the fins of tank mates, leaving a circular hole as its mark. It will also eat invertebrates found in a reef tank. Its teeth are actually a fused beak-like structure.
And once the tank has been established a green mandarin

As for inverts
Various species of snails

Feather duster

Hi guys ok here goes. I am just starting a 16g nano tank which will have mostly coral with maybe one false ocellaris. I have been reading my butt off with books and websites the past 3 weeks. My idea with the smaller tank was to give myself a feel for the hobby and have set myself a deadline of 6 months so I know exactly what I am getting into and can/cannot handle. However with my research I have a much better understanding of what I want for my permanent tank and this is what I would like some help with because I really want to have my plan ready when I get ready to upgrade. I want a predator reef tank so I want to make sure I am planning for the best filtration and size so I don't have to cut back later when a fish I want is to large for the tank I already bought, or if a fish needs a tank that I can't handle I won't get my heart to set on it.
So here it is.

120g tank I can go bigger but 200g is going to be to big for the area I am putting it.

lights and filtration will depend on the corals and fish I decide on, but I would like an some LPS and a anemone.

1 lionfish (most likely volition but the dwarf intrigues me also)

1 moray eel (zebra and snowflake are options but if I can find one the banana is awesome)

1 puffer fish (I know some of these eat invertebrates so maybe not? still looking at the different species suggestions are welcome).

Any other predator species suggestions are welcome but I also want one or 2 colorful swimmers so...

1 angelfish? (I love this fish but maybe to small?)

1 purple tang? (size on these seems to wildly vary so not sure if it is to big or small for my tank)

Again this for me is planning so all suggestions big and small are extremely welcome.

Sorry guys I forgot...If I have predator fish as listed above what are some good clean up crew to have? Assuming some of the larger shrimp or crab but I know several of the above species eat both?

Thanks again!

The yellow tang will not be happy with any larger type fish or grazer, the sixline wrasse will not be happy with smaller type wrasses. You are not out of capacity but you are not lightly stocked either
Thanks, yea I was thinking like a sailfin blenny, a watchman goby and maybe in another few moths after the tank gets some pods a madarin dragonette.

Unfortunately, I do not provide advice on predator tanks. Best advice can be found Aggressive and Fish only tanks

That is a lot of large fish, even in your sized tank. All of them are highly susceptible to parasites so you had best develop a very good protocol for quarantine and introduction. See my blog for a recommended one. The rule is most aggressive last, but it is not obvious which one will be most aggressive. You should try the FOWLR and aggressive fish forum.

Thanks for your help!
