tank has cycled and i have a small cuc in. i am thinking of putting in a tailspot blenny and some type of firefish as my first fish. i was also wondering if these 2 fish needed to be quarantined? thanks oh i have approx 75 lbs of of pukani and reef rock, no live rock , and approx 2-3" of tropic eden sand.

I recommend all fish be quarantined irrespective of source. See my blog for best in class quarantine and introduction protocol.

I am wanting to revamp my FOWLR, after losing a couple fish. I have just a green spotted puffer, three baby mangroves, some nerites, and about 40lbs LR in a 29 gallon. when my filter broke down, i put in a fluval 105 canister filter, specified for 25g, just because it was on hand.

I want hardier species because i'm not great on water changes. flame hawkfish, triggers, and dwarf lions appeal to me. thoughts?

Also, I have a 20 reef that has been in a happy homeostasis for 2 years with 2 misbar clowns, and geometric hawkfish, and a royal gamma. could I add a flame angel, a really little one?

Triggers and any type lion are not appropriate to your tank size

Well, if it were me, I would watch for one of the incredibly colored flame angels. Simply amazing coloration.

Snorvich, you mentioned a flame angle addition on one of these threads, I also wanted one but was worried about what they may do to my soft corals? how are they to reefs in general?

I just found out one of my rocks is covered in Aiptasia and a couple are on another rock. My friend told me they were tube worms *sigh*. So, I was thinking of getting a peppermint shrimp to try and take care of this Aiptasia problem. I have a 14g Biocube. Will one Peppermint shrimp be enough?

Current Setup:
2 False Percula Clowns
1 Sand Sifting Starfish
2 very tiny sized limpets (just recently appeared and don't care for too much)

Wish list right now:
1 Peppermint Shrimp

3 bangaii cardinals
3 firefish

Can I add 2 yellow prawn gobies (M+F pair)? Can they be put in a QT without any live sand, just bare bottom? I have a couple of PVC pipes for them to hide in. Is it also necessary to get a pistol shrimp to go with the gobies? I have 2 red blood shrimps already and I'm not sure if they would get along?

Finally, I want to add a yellow tang (as my last fish). Let's say, that a few years down the road, if I want to replace a fish casualty, by having the yellow tang already in the DT, would that prevent me from adding any more fishes?

Risky to LPS corals, especially meaty ones. Zoanthids would be a problem.

Well, this thread is about marine fish compatibility; however, be sure you have a true peppermint shrimp, but even then it may or may not eat your aiptasia.

no problem with pistol shrimps and blood shrimps

yellow tangs are aggressive and depending on what fish, may give your new comer a problem
