A local place has captive raised orchid dottybacks (Pseudochromis fridmani). Will this fish likely harrass my firefish as they have similair body shapes? Thanks again.

Pseudochromis, even if tank bred, are genetically the same. Your firefish is very shy and the results will not be what you are hoping for.

Im new to Saltwater. I recently added a Zoa and the first 2 days it looked great. Now half of it is closed up and will not open. I have a Biocube 29 with stock lighting. I have 2 clowns, a yellow clown golby, 22 lbs of rock. Can anybody help me out with this issue. Thanks!!!

OK Im gonna try to do this the right way this time...

46g bowfront, 70lbs of rock(50new/20 live), 2-3" sand bed, HOB Filter/Skimmer/fuge with some cheato and feather culerpa in it.
Inverts are rose Emerald crab, 2x peppermint, array of snails.
Coral: ZOa/Palys/Shrooms and 2 tiny acans right now.
Light are 4x 36" T5HO right now but will be going LED in the next month or two.
Tank cycled for 3 weeks with just rock and sand and has been another 3-4 weeks since I started adding coral. so it is 2-3 months old now.

No fish as of right now, plan is...

Firefish 1-2
Ocellaris or Mocha Clowns x2
Blenny(green canary, forktail or tailspot) x1

These are the first 4-5 I want to add over the next month or two, I figure start with the firefish since they are the most docile? Is it preferred to have an anenome or other special coral for the clowns to bond with?

I have a 75 gallon (48 x 18 x 21) on its way sometime next week. I was planning on making a sump out of a 30 gallon tank and adding a good amount of live rock and sand. Will be getting a good skimmer.
My intended purchases are going to be:

2 Ocellaris Clownfish
1 Starry Blenny (Salarias ramosus)
1 Sleeper Gold Head Goby (Valenciennea strigata)
1 Engineer Goby (Pholidichthys leucotaenia)
1 Flame Angelfish (Centropyge loricula)
1 Kole Yellow Eye Tang (Ctenochaetus strigosus)
1 Spotband Butterflyfish (Chaetodon punctatofasciatus)
1 Christmas Wrasse (Halichoeres claudia)
1 Hoeven's Wrasse (Halichoeres melanurus)
1 Radiant Wrasse (Halichoeres iridis)

Not sure if this is too many fish, but I would like to get 1 Leopard Wrasse(Macropharyngodon meleagris) eventually, but need to do more research and have more experience. Also, not sure if the Leopard would do well if added after all the fish or would have to be one of the first in the tank.

I would be less than sure about 3 Halichoeres wrasses in this sized tank; even one is not invert safe for sure, however.

I would definitely not introduce a leopard until your tank is mature, and would not do so in conjunction with Halichoeres wrasses

When you say your not sure about the 3 Halichoeres, do you mean their eventually full grown size will be too much for my tank or is it aggression among them?

I don't want to try corals just yet, but I've always liked different kinds of shrimp. If I were to replace the Halichoeres' with fairy or flasher wrasses do you think it would be a better situation for the fish and the tank as a whole?

Would Leopard wrasse be a problem with fairy or flasher wrasses (the generally peaceful kind)?

My 65 gallon (36x20x21) with Eschopps rs-75 sump and Reef Octopus Diablo xs160 skimmer is almost built. Once it's cycled I will keep my current firefish, mated pair of true percs, watchman goby with pistol and two cleaner shrimp.

I'd like to add 1 male McCoskers Wrasse with 1 or 2 females. Will this be too much? Any thoughts on keeping male and female wrasses?

The Orange Butterflyfish may be kept in a reef aquarium, but will eat leather corals and some of the soft corals. Clams may be a problem with some butterfly fish, but perhaps not the Kleini

Thanks I had a 6 line that bothered it a few years ago. After the flat worms were gone the 6 line went to another home. Are there better choices for flasher wrasses than the McCoskers or will any flasher bother firefish?

All flasher wrasses except the Red Sea Eight line (which is more aggressive) exhibit the same behavior. I am not sure that the flashers will bother the firefish, but I have seen it happen because of their activity level.

Snails and hermits....I know I need to get the crabs out. But the wifey like them. When one takes out a nassarius snail she'll change her mind.

I have a Cleaner shrimp and sexy shrimp in the DT now.
