Not exactly pretty, but it works so far. Construction site still needs some cleaning!

danfishman, very nice, what are the 2 mounds, is that from the powerheads? Mine does that in the back of the tank sometimes, and the rest of the time its my Dragon gobies, They always rearange the sand, always burying the clams.

cediss. must be great to have the bulky stuff outside, that would never work here in KY. Did you go with a fuge under the tank? My ex-Sister In Law lives in Yorba Linda.

No fuge yet. If I install a refugium it will be outside to continue to keep noise and risk of flooding house to a minimum.

Yep all powerheads were pointing too the middle, pushed the sand outwards. It is now flat and normal:D

I LOVE THAT SUMP!!! :eek2:

I was looking for a 60 gallon tank to drill for my 180 sump/refugium, but that seems to me to be a MUCH better alternative! If I could make different chambers it would work nicely. Where did you get that container?

I dont have a sump outside. I'm looking at his sump and wondering if that would be a good choice for a sump for the 180-in wall that I'm currently building. I have a little sump in the cabinet of my 40-gallon.

Personally, especially being in the Inland Empire, I wouldnt put my sump outside. It'll get very hot there during the summer.

NICE Mako!

Is that a Glasscages? Looks like low-iron glass from the corners. Mine has that heavy green line and is tinted green. Should be on the in-wall stand in a few weeks:

Jahred- That "sump" (container) was purchased at Wal-Mart in their Garden Dept. Has been up and running less than a week. Have had some flucuation in temp. I'm more concerned about heating than cooling. With a fan I can cool the water quickly (evaperative cooling). The weather has been very cool lately, so far the 300 watt heater has worked well to heat tank. I suspect I may have to add a second heater by next winter. The sump is on east side of house so next to house and stone wall. Only gets about 3 hours morning sun. Only time will tell what mods will have to be made!

WalMart, good to go! I'm going to pick one up tonight. No point in using glass if I dont have to. I'll get two, then plumb them together with pvc and bulkheads. That will solve the seperate chamber issue.

Yep Jarhead glass cages tank with a starphire front only this will be an in wall tank too. Taking pictures all the way heres the stand.

My progress can be followed at:

jarhed, I agree that you need the extra bracing on each end, These tanks are really heavy, Cant wait to see the progress, are you keeping the 40 gal. set up? Or just switching out the tank?

I'm going to be switching out the tank completely. I went ahead and finished the stand and secured it to the floor. Switched the lightswitch in the room area to the other side of the wall (it's for the kitchen light).

My project for this weekend is to get the door and the rest of the framing done above the tank. Thats going to be a challenge because I dont think construction screws are going to hold a single top plate, some short studs, drywall and paint for very long. There is no support on the corner of the tank for the wall above it, so I'm rigging up some strapping to wrap around the ceiling joists in the attic.

It's gonna get weird!!

LOL, sounds like it, But it is all worth it in the end, take your time and do it right! If you are going to do a fuge under it, make sure you get it in before you get the tank on., I didn't, now we are trying to figure out how to get one in. may have to do 2, and connect them.

How are all of the projects going?

And are there more large tanks with interresting aquascaping, I want to thank all of you who have shown your beautiful tanks already, I would sure love to see more!
