Pooky's 300

Beautiful Linny, is it the same one that you had last time I was there? I'm looking for one...again.

No, not the same. I lost that one not long after you lost yours. This is my second attempt after the last one jumped. So far, he's doing pretty well after almost a month. When I saw him, I just couldn't pass it up.

Oh yeah, that's right now I remember. PM me and let me know where you are finding these guys. I've only seen them once at a LFS and the colors were very dull (females maybe?) and they still wanted an arm and a leg.

I would be surprised if a LFS actually had a female for sale. This was one of the nicest terminal males I have seen available. It took my other over a year to get these colors.

Check out this bad boy.......and his manhood :lol2:

Very nice Kenny!

Wow, I couldn't believe it when I was looking around in the tank last night. I haven't really paid them any attention, but most, except for a handful, of the aiptasia are GONE!!! I never got a chance to put the Berghias in there and never see any of the fish actually eating them. I wonder if the Bristletail filefish pair is doing the honors or if it's the angels? Either way, I am ecstatic :)

Now if only I can get this guy to chomp down on the Valonia. Still trying to figure out if this is the orange spotted variety. The body has stayed dark like that. All of the other picz I've seen online have a much lighter body color.

That is one a freaky looking fish. I've not seen one with that coloration, very cool though especially with the cloudy eyes that rabbitfish have.

Mine was dark like yours. Just a warning if you have any zoanthids in your tank ... watch out as mine LOVED them and took our colonies of them in my frag tank before I realized it.

Yep, that was my experience the spotted one as well. Beautiful fish Kenny :)

My bets on the Emperor AngelfishPomacanthus imperator, at least mine did :).

Gold Spotted Rabbitfish Siganus punctatus , very nice one too!

Yeah, the patterns gets even freakier when it's stressed or sleeping. You would've thought the US Army took a paint spray gun to it

I'll confirm the above statements! Happened with mine.

Hmm.......I'll definitely keep an eye on it since I still do have a handful of zoanthids growing in there. Haven't seen it pick at the polyps yet. But then again, haven't seen it eat the Valonia either.

It's possible that the Emp is eating it's share but there's got to be another fish or two chowing down also because there are too many spots where the Emp is just too big to get into.

So how come I also see Gold Spotted listed as Siganus chrysospilos? Which one is which? That's why it's so frustrating sometimes with common names :crazy1:

It depends what book or source you look at. I've seen both fish listed as Gold or Orange Spotted. What you have is Siganus punctatus . You can call it Gold or Orange Spotted, it is refered as both. That's one problem with common names :).
