I can see how the faster lens would allow you to close down the aperture so you can really broaden the depth of field ... allows for nice pics of the colonies where everything is in focus. Now I'm eyeing the Nikon 50 mm 1.4 lens ... ;)

Just doo it!

The one 1.8 is nice, but the 1.4 is even nicer.

Unfortunately for me, it just wasn't $300 more nicer. I thought you got the 1.8, or did you get the 1.4 also?

I agree, I have the 1.8 as well. That extra $300 is going to be used at Disneyland :D

And you will need every last penny of that at D-land. It's so bloody expensive there nowadays :mad2:

Tell me about it. We got a couple two day park jumper passes. IMAC has taken a back seat now thF Emma is starting to understand what is going on and having more fun on trips :)

Mark - when are you going to be at Disney? We'll be there at the end of Sept. It's after that when we come back up to Sac, is when I'm hoping to get a chance to view your tank of wonders. :D We're figuring out assorted costs for Disney right now and wincing at the hit to the pocketbook.

It's all worth it at the end. We had annual passes for a couple of years but when Emily hit the age limit, it was just too much having to buy 4 when they don't even give discounts for child passes. They still ask about it but there are other things to keep the kids occupied for now :)

Some interesting development on the watanabeis. The new male is still chilling in the acclimation chamber. Since the day he was introduced, the original shemale has been stalking him and frequently swim just around the chamber checking him out. Well, lo and behold, yesterday I noticed the patterns on the shemale looked a little different. Upon closer inspection, I think she might be switching back to a male after all this time. So having another female for the last year and a half did not do anything, but the introduction of another male suddenly changed the chemistry in the tank where the shemale might be feeling threatened or finally decided to show his true colors. Talk about one confused fish :lol2: I'll post some new pix up as soon as they are processed and I'll keep photo documenting any further changes.

Dude, if the shemale turns back to a male again, he's staying :) He's been with me for too long to catch a flight now. However, the new male might be available ;)

That is one fish with a serious gender identity disorder! ;) would love to see the pics when you get a chance, Kenny.

Well, at least he/she is residing in the right state  I am traveling today so the pix will have to wait until tomorrow. I looked at him last night and the pattern is definitely getting more obvious. Gotta remember to shoot a few pix tonight when I get back.

I love seeing pics of healthy looking PBTs. :D

He's like the barometer for everyone else. If he looks under the weather, I know it's time to do something except keeping my fingers crossed :)

:eek1:

Amazing fish Kenny. Definitely on of my favorites.

Kenny, your fish pictures are getting better everytime. I would love to add a PBT but I think that it would fight with the Blue Tang, plus I've been told that they are Ich magnets.
