not familiar with the watanabei, is it a type of damsel, or something else.....great looking fish either way

Thanks! The watanabei is an angel from the genus Genicanthus. They are not pygmies but also don't get very large and are considered the most reef safe of the angels. The two females are about 5"+ and the new male is 4"+. I also have a female G. melanospilos that I am trying to find a male to pair up with. Still looking for a pair of G. semifasciatus. Once I get those, I am done with angels :)

This is the female G. melanospilos I am trying to pair up.

I take it you like the lens :) Amanda is going out of town this weekend so I think I may need to get the 50mm out myself :p

What gave it away??? :D As someone else already said, our tanks are like our mistresses

Don't remind me, my wife is going out of town and I am having friends over for tank viewings  "sure dear, go ahead and go out of town to visit your family, I am sure I can find something to do" :D

Love your pics of the fish with the new lens! That faster lens is really helping!

Thanks M! It's a world of difference shooting with the f1.8. Most of the shots actually comes out clear, when in the past, over 75% are blurry.

Great pix as usual, love the favia crab.

Thanks Greg! The crab is just another example of Mother Nature's biodiversity, which never seems to amaze me :)

The lens isn't too shabby for shooting corals either :D

Very nice Kenny, I really think the 50mm does a good job on colony shots :)

The size and color of your KLMS is amazing. There's like 50 billion eyes. I moved my frag a little higher and it started to recede so I moved it back into the shade and it has recovered but the colors are not yet back to normal. I've found my piece to be a really sensitive coral.

Yeah, talk about sensitive, it complained by bleaching out when I switched lighting. It's been in the same spot since the tank was set up. It ain't going no where.

At least it seems to recover well :p

I can see how the faster lens would allow you to close down the aperture so you can really broaden the depth of field ... allows for nice pics of the colonies where everything is in focus. Now I'm eyeing the Nikon 50 mm 1.4 lens ... ;)

The one 1.8 is nice, but the 1.4 is even nicer.
