Dan, didn't you take your reactor offline? What did you do for you alk during that week?
Just let it go but tested the next weekend. It had dropped from 9 to 7 but I bumped it back up over the next three days.

It's always nice to get away. There should be a HUGE reason for me to worry about the tank but I haven't really thought about it at all. Instead, I am busy spending time with my family. My son catching his first fish. In fact, 2 at the same time :D My daughter caught a huge blue crab with the fishing pole. They both outdid the old man in the fishing department. I guess the word is out that I am a fish killer :lol2:

Those cute kids came from you Kenny? I guess some things in nature can't be explained

Ahhaha Ian, actually as I'm looking at it more closely, if Kenny wore pink shirt and pig tails, he would look just like the little girl.

Thanks Leo. You are the first to say that my daughter looks like me

Ian, you know I AM a freak of nature so it's only normal that my kids are normal :D

Dan, we are spending a week on the outer banks in North Carolina near Cape Hatteras. Fun place and hot as heck. Great fishing if I could get away for a 1/2 or full day trip. Maybe next time.

Looks right out of Forrest Gump, half expect to see the shrimp boat "Jenny" in the background. So how does someone from the left coast pick North Carolina as a vacation destination? Must have family there?

Nope. I told my wife that when we take our vacation next year, I am doing a fish trip :)

No family. We just like the beaches and warmer water out this way :D We did the Gulf coast of Florida this past April and South Padre Island in Texas last summer. We like these barrier islands off the coasts. You can rent a house and let the kids run wild, instead of getting stuck in a hotel room, following their schedules. You know, it's funny that the locals have asked us "Why y'all's come all the way over here when you got them beaches there?" I tell them I don't like to freeze my weewee off in the cold water

Very nice Kenny. Glad to see you having such a good time :)

Thanks Mark. Quality time spent with the family is always the best.

Beautiful shot, Leo! Where is that, BTW? Very picturesque and calm. I just love island lagoons. Reminds me of the trip we took to Taha'a a while back. There is nothing like warm water that does not make your cringe at the thought of just putting your foot in.

Wow not only a reef baller but a vacation baller.:bum: Gulf Coast of Florida, South Padre Island, Cape Hatteras, Taha'a and that's only the ones you mentioned. Remind me to never let you speak to my wife and kids I've got them convinced that the Santa Ana Zoo is a great "œvacation".:twitch:

Kenny, that was a small atol off San Andres, a small unknown island in the Caribbean (about 300 miles south of Grand Cayman). They have some big reefs there, but also it's 3 feet of water for miles at 80F. Once you get in the water you don't want to get out. The water is more comfortable to be in than dry air, lol.

Daymn....I would love to go to Taha'a.

My wife and I love to travel. Now that our kids are older, it's time to introduce them to the world outside of California. It's actually pretty cool staying in the Gulf of Mexico or the Atlantic coast. You can rent a house for decent price. And if you can get a couple of families together, it's even better. We are always looking for housemates :D
