Profilux LED moonlight questions

Just been trying to research the LED moonlight units before i buy, but can't find much info... so a few quick questions:

- Do these units need to be plugged into a power socket as well, or do they draw their power from the L ports?

- If they require a power socket, does it need to be a switchable one? Or do the units automatically switch off internally when the L port intensity drops low enough?

- Do the single color moonlights take up two ports (eg L1L2), or only a single port?

thanks

Hi

They plug into L ports, the only things that go into the switchable (S) ports are power bars and dosing pumps

The LED sticks and spots use 1 channel per colour, so in this instance the blue would react to one L channel i.e L1

Hope that helps

Alrighty thanks. To clarify thou, do they need to plug into an L port and a switchable power socket, eg for a dimmable T5 unit there are two connections:

1. L port to control dimming
2. A switchable socket (on a powerbar connected to an S port) to turn the unit as a whole on and off.

Are these LED units the same, ie they take up both an L port, and a switchable socket on a power bar.

Ok we are talking about two different units here completely.

So

In respect to the LED sticks and spots, these just plug into an L port nothing else, they run on 5V DC and the power comes from the L port.

The T5 dimming. The control for the dimming is through an L port also. But the power for the actual T5 ballast and tube comes from any 110V supply, now depending on your chosen way for shutting the lamp off when the lamp is dimmed to 1% if you use the EVG zero volt switching card you can just plug the T5 fixture into any wall socket. However if you dont use one of these PCB's (EVG card) then you will have to plug the 110V power line of the light fixture into a switchable socket and set that to turn off the same time you are at 1% dimming. This method is the most untidy really.

So to clarify

LED's - L ports

Dimming control line of dimmable ballasts - L port

Power line for dimmable T5 fixture - wall socket if controlled by EVG card
or
Switchable socket if not.
