questions on spliting lta

As far as I know LTA's don't split but BTA's do. The can look similar can you post a picture?

To answer your question it depends on the anemone and conditions. It can take a few minutes, or a few hours, then you just leave them alone and don't feed them for no less than two weeks until they heal.

it really seems he has been trying to tear himself apart. a rip in both sides of mouth, inflating a second bubble on boot and it looks half one color half another.the tentacles even seem to be acting like two different anemones at times.thought he might be when i got him home got him happy and settled in (we both picked the same spot. never happens) and then came the arrow and pulled him up stressed him out. rid of arrow rehabbed the anemone but it seems like every time he gets stressed he starts trying to split. i truly do not know though and hopped someone might recognize the pattern or explain what is really happening. i know these guys are quite a mystery at times.

p.s. will try to get some good pics but it will be hard with out disturbiing him might take a little time.

yesterday looked like he was splitting for sure(big and little, split in mouth, fleshy exposure, extra bubble in boot) now im not so sure looks pretty normal still bit of bubble in boot and tears but no fleshy look any more and acting like one not two

just to be thorough. im sorry for the false alarm everyone. there were spiders webbing the anemone and made it look as if it were trying to pinch itself in two and the hole was from the arrow crab.did not mean to waste anyones time
