Reefbreeders/(Evergrow OEM) Fixtures D120/IT20** series

I've been reading this thread in my spare time for a few days now and still aren't done. I have an optics question for everyone. I plan on getting 2 photon 16's for my 90 gal and also plan on upgrading to a 120 in the near future. Would 2 of these fixtures be suffice for a 120 sps as well? Also, would 120 deg optics work better for a 48x24x24 tank?

How high should i hang my value fixture over my 24x24x13? I got 90 degree optics.

10 - 18 inches above water surface. Depends on what animals your keeping.

For example, hanging the fixture at 10" will probably yield PAR of at least 400 at the bottom of your tank (13").

How high are you mounting the fixtures? For a SPS and clam setup, 90 degree optics mounted 10".

How high above the water should I mount a Value Fixture on a standard 29 gallon tank? Tank is 18" deep and I mainly keep LPS with a few SPS in there.

Is there anyone out there who has had one of these fixtures for over a year and can give some reviews? I ordered a 32 three weeks ago and keep getting excuses about why it hasn't shipped. Last one was someone local picked up the fixture that was supposed to go to me(I had already received a ups shipment notification email).
I'm losing a lot of faith in reefbreeders and it is getting frustrating. This is not a small investment.

No one is at fault.

The OEM (Evergrow) usually makes the fixtures in large batches. It normally takes about 3 weeks to create a batch. After they are made, they ship extremely quick from China (within 3 days). This is if you were to order factory direct. It's how its always been.

Reefbreeders gets a large order like this, and then ships it out to you. The beauty of this, is that they offer a 2 year US warranty, and they cost the same as if you were to order your own from China.

It may take longer than usual, but it is worth the wait.

Hazard, what type of fixtures do you have, haw long have you had them, and what do you think?
And I hope you didn't get one of the 24s they were talking about which used to come with no heat sinks!

I've had the d120 (value), Nova (older model, converted to a DIY Cree), 16" Photon, and 32" Photons. I've been using them since last May or so.

The value fixtures didn't have the heatsink originally, and to be honest, it didn't need one. The pcb board was thick, and kept it cool to the touch anyway.

The 16", 24", and 32" Photons are all cool to the touch at 100%. The Radion Pro got scalding hot at 100% after more than 5 minutes.

The beauty of these fixtures are the replaceable leds. I've modified my led layout for the better several times already, and so has Reefbreeders. It allows you to stay current with any new led advances and info.

No other fixture on the market has the power, replaceable leds, and control for the price. When there is one, I'll probably own that too.

I have a 120 gallon tank 4 x2 x2 with two braces that give me 3 2'x1' areas. Mostly softies.
1) I want a light that is dimmable.
2) That can do a sunrise to sunset.
3) I do have controllers Apex and Profilux so maybe 3 rd party controllabllty.
Any thoughts what would be a good fit for my tank? Thanks in advance

Thank you for the response. If someone other than hazard would give their opinion it would be great.

+1 to what bhazard said. I got 3 D120's, an IT2040 and 2 IT 2080's. I've had them for 10 weeks now and they all work just fine. I have a new, EXACT duplicate of the EG D120 from SunSun and it has noisy fans! I had an Eco Tech Radion and it was hot as well. I sold it as I like the IT2040 better. Especially at $245 vs $750. It runs cooler, cover more square footage, has just as good or better PAR, is easier to adjust settings (you don't need a computer)... oh, and it costs about 1/3 the price if you can find a group buy.

Have you even read this thread? The EverGrow lights are not able to be run by any reef controller! If I were you, I'd get 2 EverGrow IT2040 (aka. Reef Breeders Photon 16).

Can anyone post pics of their 32" light fixture over a 48"x24" tank?

I want to make sure the 32" fixture will be sufficient for a 120G tank

There will be 6" of shaded areas on the sides. This is somewhat beneficial for low light coral though. A few of my LPS don't like all the light I'm giving them.

Yeah, that's what I would expect... Maybe I'll order with 90s and order a set of 60s to experiment with the look. I would think that the 60s would drive PAR deeper even if mounted higher... I can mount up to 24". It's times like this that I wish I owned an Apogee!

I have a 60"L x 24"W x 20"H tank. I'm interested in giving the reefbreeder fixture a try. I'm currently running a 10x54w ATI Powermodule and my tank is SPS dominant. I was wondering if two Photon 24 would be enough?
