Reefbreeders/(Evergrow OEM) Fixtures D120/IT20** series

I have the older unit with the older led color layout. Mine does it as well only when the lights are turned off and only the the little led light is on (not the the display screen). Then if I turn just the moon lights on the sound goes away. My fans do not run with the moonlights on, unless it is because I am running them at a lower percentage (currently at 2%). The noise is coming from the front left (looking at the unit). I do not think it is a driver it is a small box directly by the vent in front about 3-4 inches away from display.

Exactly how mine behaves.

Man.. I just ordered 2 of these units, i hope we didn't just stumble on one of a whole host of problems

I wouldn't say it's a problem; but I would like to know what's causing it and if other people have sou d coming from their units when completely powered off.

The units I have run great aside from the electrical sound when the power goes off...

Mine both whine if I have them below 4% or off. It works fine, and I wouldn't even care if it made the noise while it was on, but doing it when it is off is really irritating. Definitely coming from the little black box inside behind the display.

hello all, is someone able to tell me the dimensions on the mounting holes for the hangin kits please, i am getting one of these units and whilst waiting i would like to make up a frame to mount the light too.

also what height do you recommend to hang the light of the water in a 4x18x18 tank?

thank you in advance :)

sup guys, was wondering if it would be better for me to get 1 photon32 or 2 16's over my 120 4x2x2 non rimless :( lol idk how bad the support glass in the middle will bother the light penentration of the 32. It's going to be lps/poly dominated

***Update on the audio whine noise issue

I figured out that if I leave the lights in the custom mode without ever powering off the unit it remains dead quiet. I have no reason to ever manually power off the unit so the noise no longer is an issue for me. I am also able to power off the lcd screen while in custom mode and it still remains quiet.

I built one as well. The loop at the top of the hanging kit will accomidate 3/8th in rod/hangar/whatever. I'm using a wood support with rod running over the top that I just slipped the mounting kit loops through. If you're handy with steel wire/fasteners you can resize the hanging kit a little like I had to to get the height right.

If you meant something else, feel free to let me know and I can measure it for you.

Photon 32, 4' Layout

Photon 32, 4' Layout

Some Measurements for your Information

Fixture is a Photon 32, 8" off the water, 100% White, 100% Blue.
Fixture has the 4' Layout which is 1/3rd no optics, middle third 90d optics, 1/3rd no optics.
Tank is a Eurobraced 120gal.
PAR values with an Apogee, and are unadjusted. Per Apogee the blues are under-eported by around 10%, greens and reds over by 5% or so. Overall the numbers should have an additional 4% or so added to be totally accurate.

These are updated numbers with 100% White, 100% Blue that the fixture is now set at. I have had no bleaching.

I'd go with 2 of the 16's because you get them spread apart a little bit in the center and they will do a better job at the ends of the tank. I have 2 of the IT2080 (the RB Photon 32) and they get under my 24" glass center brace just fine (and it's cloudy glass).

Glad to hear (pun intended) that you figured this one out. BTW, mine have been in custom mode with lcd screen off for 14 weeks and haven't missed a beat. I even got the 2 clocks set the same and after 10 weeks they still turn lights on and off within a second of each other!

where the yellow lines are you can see are the measurements i am after.

anychance i can get the measurements in metric and imperial too please if its not too much of an issue. than i can start to draw something up in solidworks and get to building :hammer:

Hi there

I was wanting to ask which one of the photon range of lights would be suitable for a 27 inch cube tank, filled with only sps and clams on the sand bed? Please also advise on the optic lens too.
Thank you

I have a 30 x 30 x 20h cube and I'm going with 2 x photon 16's with 120* optics. It will sorta depend on how your rock work is as well, but 24's don't give you any more LED's then 16's, but increase the chance of a disco ball effect because the LED's are more spread out. I think if you go with 24's that you'll have light spillage out the side of your tank. Also depends on how high you plan on mounting your lights. Mine will be pretty high for good coverage. I also run SPS only.
