Reefbreeders/(Evergrow OEM) Fixtures D120/IT20** series

I've got 2xPhoton 16 coming this week...

I'm still debating how I'm going to hang/ mount the fixtures. Has anybody used a different hanging kit with these units? I was just looking at someone's thread over on the RB forum, not impressed with the hanging kit and the way it attaches to the ceiling. I know, not a big deal to some, but my tank is in my living room, and there's no way the wife is going to go for carabiners & hooks in "her" ceiling.
Debating making an EZ Tube light rack, and using a better quality hanging kit...

How much light spills out with these units 8-10" off the water w/ 90* optics?

I'm still confused

I'm going to have to get two value fixtures for a 60" X 18" X 25" deep tank
the light will be 8 to 10 inches off the water do I need 120 or 90 optics If I go closer to the water say 6" do I use 120 optics dang im lost

for a 25 inch deep tank I would use 90* optics. Anything less then 24 inches can use 120* optics (assuming you want to grow SPS/clams at some point)

You will need three units.

Value Fixture

Value Fixture

Value Fixture, No Optics (120d), 10" Above the Tank (very High), 100% White, 100% Blue

I have a value fixture over a 30gal I setup for lps/softies, normally I run it at 50/50, but cranked up to 100/100 for some par readings.

I have got a 96x33x24 tank that's going to be a fowlr and was wondering which lights I will need. Will I need the 120 optics? Tank is euro braced if it makes any difference.

How long is your 30 gal tank

How long is your 30 gal tank

Its a standard Aqueon 36" 30gal.

Thats why the fixture is higher with no optics, so I could get coverage, and the par is more than enough (almost to much in spots) for lps/softies.

Got my 3 x photon16s on Friday. I'm still working on stand and canopy so the tank is not up and running.
I had several questions.
I was going to stay with the default settings for now.
However,
1. I wanted to shift the time frame back so the lights will be on later. Do I just program the time to an hour off?

2. The default setting shows percentages per hour (or half hour). If I want to set start off with the overall strength of the fixture at 30% how do I do that?

Just got my Photon 32 and it looks great! One problem so far is one of the screws? on the unit that the hanging kit attaches to was a little too wide and i needed a pliers to attach it- I don't have the tools to file it down. Otherwise, hanging was pretty easy. I was able to hit a stud on one side and used a heavy duty hanging kit on the other side which was only dry wall. The hanging kit could be a little longer for some. I haven't had a chance to customize the settings yet, just played around a bit.

Also, it says that once the screen is off (holding down left arrow key per Ron Reefman) its supposed to turn on by pressing any button. That hasn't worked for me. I've gotta play around a bit until it turns back on.

If anyone has a good setup for sunrise, daytime, sunset, moonlight etc, I'd appreciate some tips. For now I will leave it at factory settings although I'm not even sure what they are.

I just tried mine and it only turns the screen back on with the left arrow button. I'll send you a PM with my light schedule. It's probably not one you'll use, but It may give you some ideas.

Can you send it my way too? I have mainly sps in a 65g tank with a photon32 about 6" off water. I am peaking at 4hrs (70/60 2hrs & 80/70 2hrs). My red planet is still green and wondering about going higher.

Well I'm thinking about getting myself one of the Photon series to run a frag tank.

Does anyone have a magical combination on the LED's or is it best to stay with the pre-built setups?

Well I finally pulled the trigger on the d120 lights can't wait to get them very happy tonight the wife just rolled her eyes lol
