Reefbreeders/(Evergrow OEM) Fixtures D120/IT20** series

Well I finally pulled the trigger on the d120 lights can't wait to get them very happy tonight the wife just rolled her eyes lol

my wife is the same way.. she goes why do you read so much and keep looking at lights? its just a stupid light!... :debi: I say the same thing about the seriously stupid **** she buys lol.. hopefully going to order a IT2080 this week or next

Anyone with any insight?

Got my 3 x photon16s on Friday. I'm still working on stand and canopy so the tank is not up and running.
I had several questions.
I was going to stay with the default settings for now.
However,
1. I wanted to shift the time frame back so the lights will be on later. Do I just program the time to an hour off?

2. The default setting shows percentages per hour (or half hour). If I want to set start off with the overall strength of the fixture at 30% how do I do that?

Anyone with any insight?

I know my lights (IT2080s and IT2040) hold their data when I use the custom setting after a power failure. I'm not sure about the default settings. But if you turn them off with a separate timer, when they turn back on the clock will (should) still have the correct time and pick up the default setting as of that time. So I don't think that will move back the timing. You could just reset the internal clock, say 2 hours earlier than the correct time and that would move the entire schedule back by 2 hours. But I don't understand why you don't want to just spend the 10 minutes it takes to set the custom settings to what you want and be done with it.

If you adjust the default power setting, I think it will work. But I'm not sure if it will hold your new setting if you power the light off and on. I've never tried it.

Here is a couple new shots of my 240 with 3 of the D120's hanging over it. This is with the 120 degree optics.

They look really different from the 240w DIY LED setup I had, but I definitely like the look a lot more. I expect that the PAR values aren't as high, but the overall color and look is better.

I bought mine off ebay. Came in a Tao tronics box but look identical to these. I can't find a brand name on the unit. Also wanted to show off my hanging kit made of conduit. If I were to do it again I would of used PVC schedule 80. More expensive but all black.

Nice.

Can we get a picture at night so there is no sunlight though.

I went with 2 Photon 16's so that I don't have any regret and can keep anything anywhere.

Hoping to get it next week.

EverGrow does not have a brand name on theirs either (I have 7), but the serial number stickers look like the EverGrow ones on my fixtures (EG xxxxxxxxx). Maybe some one is just selling them under a different name like Reef Breeders do (their Photon product line is the EverGrow product too).

I can't decide!!! I have a standard 75 gal...rimless. battle is deciding between even spread of 2 16/24" or shading with 1 32"...help?

I just received my lights...sort of (sent me 2 value fixtures instead of 2 photon 16s with 90* optics). I didn't do any "official" testing, and I just held one of the units over my tank, so take it FWIW, but based on my super scientific eyeball/ holding the unit roughly 8ish inches over the water test, there's no way 2 16's is enough light for a 48x18 established SPS reef. Based on what (admittedly little) I have seen, it's well worth the extra money to go with the 24s.

Good stuff..Thanks dude

I'm gonna completely disagree with you there, 2 16's is perfect for that size tank. I've got a 48x24 and it lights it up perfect. And I will be full sps

My reefbreeders 24" fixture as my lights are ramping down. I've had this light for a couple months now and I freaking love it!

2 16's 7-8" off water line, you can see it's bright and had full coverage, no shadows and I have a center brace.

Kinda funny, mine came in unmarked boxes, but had TaoTronics stamped on the unit itself.
