Reefbreeders/(Evergrow OEM) Fixtures D120/IT20** series

It will jump from 0 to 10. That's why people prefer .5 increments with more gradual intensity increases. Much less noticeable

yeah but I was hoping for something more gradual than only changing every 30mins..
Oh well, its still a really nice fixture.

If you want a nice smooth change that doesn't jump every 30 or 60 minutes, it's available, just go online and buy a Radion or AI or Maxspect... Oh you want that level of quality build in a light that costs less than half as much! Seriously?

You should see my kessil a350aw. It has no ramp at all. It just comes on at 11 and off at 8 and blasts the corals. I like the kessil but after setting up a photon 16 on my friends tank, I've taken the plunge and purchased a photon 16 for myself. Awesome fixtures IMO.

Actually the Twilight fixtures have gradual dimming and they are priced comparably to the Reefbreeders/Evergrow units. I have 4 of them hanging over my 210G tank and I love them. The main reason that I chose them over the Reefbreeders/Evergrow units is because of the way they handle dimming.

If I set my lights at 30% at 9AM and set them at 50% at 11AM they gradually climb from 30% to 50% over the full 2 hours.

Yeah seriously. I think adding the ability to automatically ramp is simply a upgrade in the software that runs the unit.
If you can manually ramp the light from 1%-100% in single incriments, then having a timer do the same thing shouldn't be more than a simple software update.
Even if they don't make the unit automatically ramp up and down, just adding 1 or even 5min incriments would give you the ability to program in a much more subtle light increase.

Both of these options shouldn't add much to the cost, if anything.

I also own 2 A350N's and 3 A150's (2 14k and 1 6500k for fuge) I love the kessils for their shimmer, but I had to add the two a150's so that I got some kind of dusk and dawn effect.

Love the it2080. But why does nyntank seem to lose clarity when I use more blue. I almost like it better when I have the white at 100% and blues at 15 to 20%.

Strange?

The yellow tangs look washed out when too much blue.

Lose clarity? You have to explain that better. How can lighting make your tank look less clear?

What is the ratio of blue to white leds in your fixture? Mine is 3:2 blue to white and I run my blues at 90% and with the whites at 50% there isn't any blue color left in the tank!

Ok Ron sorry. It's not like it loses clarity. Ore like water instead of being crystal clear it takes on like a tint. Like when ou use methanblue. Only ver very lighter.

I'm going to try your settings.

What effect is there on spectrum and par if I was to do 1:1 ratio of royal blue to white. I think I might prefer that.

Forgot to mention. I will break out my apogee. 200. And see how these things produce par at bottom of 31 deep tank hung 8 inches above water.

It depends on what you are looking for in terms of color. It seems a lot of people like the bluish tint, including me. As I said, I have a custom led layout I did with EG and my layout is 3:2 blue to white. And at 90% blue and 40%-50% power with the white and the blue color all but disappears in my tank.

Not knowing the blue:white ratio of your light, I have no idea how my settings will look to you. If you did a 1:1 layout, I think it would be very white. You'd have to have the blue at 100% and the white very, very low to get any blue tint.

I have the current
About from RB. It looks pleasing to me at 20% blue and 100% white channel.
What I notice at sunny setting all 100%. I have a hard time seeing the difference in Rock covered with coriline algae and where it is not covered. Guess I'm saying the purple is really popping.

Hi any radium halide user that switch to this led that can tell me how simililar are this led with the radium color? I have a 90 cube that I want to set up again and I had it with 1 250 radium and love the colors but I will like to try one of this led any one? Thanks

You do know that these lights come with 2 channels that can be dimmed differently, right? One is all blue and the other is mostly white. So you can pretty much dial in the shade of blue you want.

I had 4 250w MH (not Radiums) so I can't speak to your color issue. But these leds have as much PAR as any MH.

Thanks ron is just the radium have a nice touch my frieds had other 20k bulbs in their tanks and my coloration was way better

Well I think my maxspect rail system that bows so much is safe as I made sure it wouldn't bow anymore before I installed it. I noted that as an added precaution I put velcro type material under the base. I also purchased some pipe clamps to use and got them fixed up today. The mounting screw goes thought one of the holes and I molded it to fit around the edge of the aquarium. I'm putting one on the left and right sides. My only concern is that HomeDepot didn't have all stainless ones. These are listed as corrosion resistant carbon plated steel. Do you think it will pose a problem? I can order solid stainless ones online.

If you pay attention you see the command adhesive velcro strips sticking out of the edge of the base.

The LED's were not at 100% also, 50 blue/40 white. I used a custom spectrum a bit different from some and the IT2040 in the middle has to go through a cloudy glass center brace (Old Oceanic tank).
