Reefbreeders/(Evergrow OEM) Fixtures D120/IT20** series

I have a 150GAL 30" tall can I get by with just one IT2080. Plan on reefing with SPS and LPS.

Is your 150g tall a standard 6' long or is it shorter?

At 6 feet you definitely need 2 IT2080's for sps. One IT2080 can only cover about 4'. And at 5 feet long, I hate to say it, but it's more expensive, I'd use 3 IT2040's. Two IT2060's probably would get the job done, but 3 would give better coverage and more PAR (or the ability to run the fixtures at lower power settings). And 2 IT2060's will cover your tank better than 1 Photo48 because you can place them closer to the ends and get full coverage. IMHO.

I am not sure what you are basing that statement off of. There are several pigments excited by the yellow spectrum, so neutral whites, which are somewhat heavy in yellow, are great for bringing out colors in corals. On the blues and violets, there is a ton, about 5 times more of that than any other light spectrum put out from the fixture, and that is with 12 neutral whites in a photon24. They are not neccessarily needed, but they make the corals look much better, and they make the tank look real, instead of a black light kind of look. But I agree, you could use just blues and violets, and grow corals.

Since most people dim the white channel to 30 % or less wouldn't it be wise to go with maybe 2-4 (1/3rd) NW and dedicate the rest to blues and violets to provide the option to maximize the intensity and coverage of that channel and minimize the possibility of bleaching and or poor coloration seen at higher intensities of white usage?

Grant it that you are adding more blues that you need to off set maybe 6 and the most but how do you come up with 12?

The white LEDs are not the sole cause of bleaching or poor coloration at all. Starting at maximum power will do that, with the blues too. I run the whites at the same intensity as the blues, and I am up to almost 100% power in a 210 gallon tank, with no issues. If there was only 2-4 whites, the light would basically have only 1 dimming channel, it would be pretty much all blues, and there would be no adjustability of the kelvin range. As a default, the lights are 14k, which is plenty blue, and you can go to 20k, or deep blue easily.

I have a 28g nanocube pro led that a stip of the leds just went out. Im not impressed with the light at all to say the least so I dont want to fix it I want to just remove the lid! My question is has anyone put one of the 16s over this tank and how do you think it would work? Id like to try one of these lights now to see if I like it as im considering putting them on the dsa 65 tank im building. My biggest concern is the pinkish hue they seem they have. Any help or pics of optional layouts not pink would be appreciated as ive looked through most of the thread and still confused!

I am looking at the same Proton 16 for my 28g nanocube as well. I've asked about pics of the color as well and I think you can custom the color as you like in 2 ways. You can use the knobs and adjust the blue and white independently and/or you can order with a custom layout of led's to your liking. Hopefully some people with nano's will post some decent pics.

I was a MH user and I have read so many reports about LED's, well I have my IT 2080 and I have to say, I really like it. My tank is still cycling but was unsure how to set my lights. 150Gallon 30inch tall and 4 foot long, 2 foot wide. I have it currently changing in 30 min increments for a sunrise until both blue and white hit 100 at 1PM and then at 3PM the sunset starts and the light slowly goes to moonlight at 800PM and then shuts off completely at 10PM. Any suggestions?

By the way Ron thank you for the recommendation I am very please with this light set up and the heat that it doesn't create.

I received my photon48 a couple days ago from you guys (excellent job packaging Btw) and so far I am happy with the light. I have it hung 17" off the water over a 65 inch long tank. Outside edges are a little dimmer (which I expected fully) but it is not noticeable as it is a steady fade with the lights that high.

I would not want any less whites added to the fixture as to me the blues are already fairly overpowering. One thing though is I would disagree that the lights are about 14k at 100% with the standard reefbreeders layout. I replaced a 750w 20k radium setup with this light and to me the colors at 100% both channels is almost identical. The only thing at this point I dislike about the fixture is the huge jump on the blue channel between 9% and 10%. In order to keep a dimmer version of the spectrum I like I have to turn my white channel up to around 10% as well to make the colors match, which is a huge jump in brightness where I was looking for a mild transition.

Currently I run one step at 9% blue 3% white and go to 10% blue 10% white which translates to a rough transition at that half hour slot... everything else is unnoticeable.

Otherwise though I love the light, well made comes with a hanging kit, controller functions with no issues. Also I do like how you can adjust the moonlights up or down which is nice because of how high the lights are above the tank.

I have a value unit over my 28g NC, it works great. I am running mine with no optics and I like the spread better than with the optics. I think the pinkish hue is over exaggerated in some of the photos, not really pink in person and the balance between the channels really lets you fine tune the look.

I just ordered the value model for a FO/with some softie tank. Price is darn good, although I really hate propping up the Chinese. I hope the quality is better than the Chinese stuff I get for my business.

As many led lights that Reef Breeders has sold it is a pretty good indication that they are selling a good quality product with very few problems. the Chinese can make the best and or worst stuff, in this case they are making a good product.

Would like to know if anyone has changed the factory color scheme. I have one over my zoanthid tank and love it. I can't get very good pinks to show up now like with my other lights. Can anyone share their set up coloration and % blues and% whites that make their z/p look and grow well?

Waiting on my IT2060 to arrive. I want to run a 24 hour, every 30 minute program. Anyone want to volunteer their lighting schedules? It would be much appreciated
