Regal and Flame Angels - Which is most likely to eat Corallimorphs?

Hi,

I recently went on holidays and when I cam back my corallimorphs were all but wiped out, looks like something was eating them, starting at the mouth/centre.

I had a coral beauty, flame and regal in the tank (the coral beauty disappeared a few days after I got back).

Any idea which out of the flame and the regal are lost likely to eat the morphs?

Cheers

Andrew

Well, of the three choices, I'd suspect the Regal. My red sea Regal some years ago ate zoos, morphs, but also aptasia and majanos ....

Yep agree with the others, probably the regal, but any full size angel and most smaller ones as well will learn to eat soft stuff if they are with tank mates that have learned how to eat.

Imo it is impossible to know without witnessing the behavior. I have seen some very well behaved regals in reefs, and I have personally experienced a VERY non-reef safe flame. He was a model citizen one day, and the next day he had demolished and completely destroyed half of my corals. I feed very well, and he just turned overnight with no warning and no cause. Although personally I wouldn't trust a coral beauty either, based again on personal experience. If the coral munching disappeared with the fish, I think you have your suspect :)
