Rob's 300 Gallon Deep Dimensions!

How does your canopy open up to give you access to the tank? I'm planning a 225 with 5 360We - your canopy is a great inspiration!

Can you give some details of how it works, anything you love or hate, etc?

I'm redoing my Canopy, first its heavy and i don't have alot of access, I would need to raise it a bit, since its heavy its a hassle.

I'll post my new one, soon.

Loved the color , it looks modern.

Thanks!

I'm looking forward to seeing your updated model! I think the kessils are supposed to be around a foot over the water, right?

Here is the new Canopy, nice way to show the Kessils. Its hanging 14 inches above the water line, water line to the bottom of the lights. Im thinking Hamilton Aruba Sun V edition down the middle, or 2 Coralview Lumen Bright 3 MINI 400w in between the rows.
Or may not add any.

Wow, That looks great. Ive been in search of new better stronger lights for my tank. The DD tanks require strong light to reach those depths.

That's quite a change! Looks good!

Yes, a big change for the better IMO, now I am able to reach the back without raising the canopy, and that was pita.

very nice man!

Thanks Tim, how are the new lights working for you?

GORGEOUS set up.

Thank You!

What a great looking tank!

Much appreciated for the nice words, still a work in progress.

These lights are great, I researched all the different led lights out there. But these lights grabbed my attention by the small form factor, intensity and shimmer. I run them at 90% blue and 50% white at its highest intensity, which is ramped up to it in mid-day. Its 14 inches from the water line, and my LPS on the sand bed are loving it, no trouble penetrating 27 inches of depth of the tank. I am very happy with thus far.

Thanks Robert great tank what are dimensions of tank ?
And how are you finding Kessils,I have 4' 6" L x 2' 5" W x 2' 2" D and have two Kessils but feel i need at least one more .

Do you have a brace in the middle? If you do get 2 more and stagger them.

yes have brace just tiny bit offset but would still restrict so yes two would be nice.

Yes, 4 would be awesome on that tank size. Maybe raise them up a bit, so your corals can acclimate to the intensity. Then bring them down slowly to desired height.

Robert, How do you see the growth and color being effective now that you removed the t5's and just running Kessils. Haven't seen many fully lit kessil 350/360 successful sps systems, they seem to be only talked about. I'm hoping you keep them and prove they can actually grow some beautiful sps's. Keep up your amazing hard work.

Thanks! Jury is not out yet, I am meticulous about these things. And to be honest my corals has been behaving rather different, pe has gone down a bit. Maybe the adjustment to the intensity. I have burned a few tips during these adjustments and still fine tuning. Blues are at 80% at its peak and intensity is at 40%. Also at 14 inches above the water line.

Damn... You were my hope to hear that kessils can have amazing success. I'm be running them for months on multiple systems. Seems like some sps just do not like this fixture while other have no issues with it.
Been searching for other that are having success with just the kessils and no other LEDs.
Please keep up in the loop I know I'm not alone wonder how you make out. Wishing you honest success.

Brad
