If those purple polyps were out this might be hot, but otherwise it's looks kinda dull. What's telling to me is that those acans and Scoly pop in the pic but my jaw isn't dropping for the acro:lol2:
It seems there's more an agrument about the photos than the actual coral.
It's definatley the type I'd have to see in person to make a decision on. For me, usually if there's some photos (not from a vendor )that aren't appealing they carry some truth to the real coloration.

I'm curious where this acro has been in captivity for over a year and a half? It hasn't been at the store.

I won't be curious about this acro until I see a frag from it grown out into a nice looking colony. That's what will make me want it. Also I won't believe it's a hardy coral til that happens for a multitude of people. I would rather get my own wild different looking corals, hope for the best and enjoy the beauties that most turn into.

I took all the photos including the one your looking at and Im not the vendor certainly. That photo was poorly compressed and not large enough. Look at post #189 for a better representation...

I saw all the photos the first time. The one I posted is more representative of the coral because I don't press my face a 1/2" from a coral and look at 2 inches worth of the coral or just the tips.
It still has flat muted colors close or far and every single picture I've seen the polyps are in. They don't seem to come out when the lights are on from what I see, so that's another turn off for me.
I'd like to see a side shot from the front of a tank and it probably is even less appealing. That "orange" tends to look more like brown.
That's just my view by your pictures..........maybe it looks nicer in person. There are plenty of corals that have impressed me more in person than from pictures, so I guess I'll find out eventually.

Why would this be a secret?? Originally he said the frags were coming from over seas and those original frags started showing up less than a year ago....probably 6 months. Very confusing.
Well you know how it is, he sets up relationships with skilled farmers to care of his corals as thats part of the game. This is how he feeds his family so he throws people off the scent. My understanding is it originally came from Australia.

Hey Reefkeeper can I buy a frag off of you of your Avengers? I really don't agree with the way a certain individual treated you and everybody else here in the US that tried to buy a JD frag.

I had the same experience trying to buy JD actually was a huge ordeal and kinda BS.
I'll put some up for sale when it's ready I'm just glad I got my hands on one before certain people got involved. I called em out on other forums with the person that was buying with me and had to stop before we got banned they are here now and play innocent but believe me this thread is full of vendor advertising and pumping coral popularity.

It sad because some of us really depend on vendors to display the correct depiction of what the piece should look like. There are way to many people buying one thing and then getting it and it looks completely different. Then they are told it takes time to color up after shipping. It's a nice piece but I no the jawdropper will never look like the first picture posted. To be honest by us continue to post on this thread keeps it going.
Good luck with the frags they are nice but not $500 an inch nice

Again I paid 125.00 for the bleeding avengers before it was even know to a lot sounded interesting so I grabbed one. I would not have paid 500 for it no way. And I agree their was a butt load of enhanced photos floating around of the JD and from the pics above the Bleeding Avengers is looking better already.
