Scotty & Tammy's 4x4x2 SPS tank

Great. Thanks. I will put my 3D glasses on before looking at them. I am sure your corals will look fascinating.

Bulent

3D glasses  that's a new one, I must give that a go ;)

Can't wait! :)
Your tank is just so mature and grown out, it is awesome in the true sense of the word.
I'm wondering, Scotty, have you noticed any changes you've had to make to maintenance of the tank- nutrient or chemistry-wise or other.. Now that the tank is SO packed?
Your coral to water ratio is getting smaller and smaller.. I just wonder how that effects a system..
I am remembering mammothreefer's problems he had with his old tank- it was waaaay smaller thank your system but it eventually got so jam packed with corals that he lost stability and it crashed..
Just wondering if there is a sweet spot or apex in a system's development after which things become more tricky...

Thanks Matt :)

I do find that certain levels can bounce around a little but nothing too extreme, I've put that down to whatever the bigger colonies are using to grow at the time. So that's just means taking a bit of extra time to test and keep an eye on things. I have found the nutrient gets depleted a little quicker also which is taken care of by heavier feeding and the fish definitely don't complain about that! :lolspin:

Overall things haven't really changed a lot and it's still a pretty easy tank to take care of which is good :)

The thing that really gives me a chuckle every time i read your posts Scotty is your avvy pic which is better than 90% of the SPS FTS's on RC......... :hmm5:

Bring on the SPS PORN !!!!!!!!!!!!

As promised some night time pics. Quality isn't that good, like I said I'm not a pro with the camera

Sorry it biggles the avvy wasn't meant to come across like that, I just liked the pic that was all

Very nice. I appreciate your effort.

Naturally reflective colours do not show up under this light. I use blue + and coral + first thing in the morning and late at night to be able to see pinks and purples a little longer. Your tank made me realise the importance of actinics in coral coloration and possibly growth (chlorophyll a). I am going to use your exact combination when the time comes to replace my tubes.

Thanks again.

man this tank is incredible.

Thank you :)

Yes it is very hard some colours do not show up under the actinic and blue+ combo. Let me know if you need me to tell you my bulb combo and order when the time comes to changing your tubes, I'm always happy to help :)

Well you better PM them to me so you don't get in trouble Mike :lolspin:

Wow. Great tank. I love the tank dimensions as well.

Thank you :)

Really nice tank, the colonies are so big! Nice color balance as well!

Thanks joshky, everything is growing outta control at the moment

Not to deny the obvious good taste in aquascaping here... Mother Nature is the true artist ! She provided the palette.

Mother Nature is always the artist ;)

Hooley bloody dooley Scotty............ just blows me away to see the large, mature and colorful colonies you've grown.

Scotty congrats on the RC Blue Thumb award. Less tinker, more growth = nice acro bush.

Unlike someone's tank. :p

Any idea what a similar look what be but with a 6 bulb t5 fixture? Really like your color and the look of your combo

I would drop the purple+ as the coral+ has 10% purple/pink in it and the ABS
or one of the coral+ depending on your personal preference
